Ash then uses his Pokédex to find out what moves Zuruggu knows, finding out that it only knows Leer and Headbutt. When Iris reacts with surprise, Ash reminds her that Axew only knows Scratch and Dragon Rage. Dent points out that Zuruggu did just hatch from an egg after all, to which Ash agrees.  Ash then calls for a Leer attack from Zuruggu, which Dent notes has little effect. Then Ash calls for a Headbutt attack, which also has surprisingly little effect. Finally, Ash calls for a Thunderbolt counterattack from Pikachu, but a weakened one, which totally knocks Zuruggu back. Ash asks Zuruggu if it is okay, and it gets up, still ready for battle. Dent is surprised that it can still go on, but Ash notes that with the fighting spirit that Zuruggu has, it was born to battle. Iris comments to Axew that he has a troublesome baby brother, to which Axew agrees.

Ash then calls out his other Pokémon in order to meet their new friend. They all respond in a positive way, starting with Pidove. However, Zuruggu continues to respond aggressively, headbutting Pidove, which shocks her. Oshawott is next, but again, gets a headbutt from Zuruggu, which results in Oshawott getting so angry that Pikachu and Tepig have to pull Oshawott off of Zuruggu to separate them and prevent them from fighting. Then Oshawott hits Zuruggu over the head with his shell, to which Ash asks if Zuruggu is okay. Then Zuruggu responds with headbutting Oshawott, separating him from his shell, and stepping on it so that he cannot get it back. Oshawott responds with a Water Gun attack, to which Zuruggu defends itself by pulling up its "pants" to block it. Ash notes that is how Zuruggu defends itself. Zuruggu then headbutts Tepig, and Ash says that Zuruggu takes on everybody, and Dent notes that it has little effect. Then Zuruggu appears dizzy from too many headbutts, which makes Iris laugh. Then Zuruggu tries to headbutt Snivy, who is sitting on a rock, but Snivy dodges, and Zuruggu hits the rock instead. Then it tries to headbutt Snivy again, to which Snivy responds by using its Vine Whips to hold Zuruggu at bay, until it trips and falls on it's face. Ash then asks Zuruggu if that is enough already.

It then shakes off being dizzy again, and tries to headbutt Snivy again, to which Snivy responds by using its Vine Whips to hold Zuruggu at bay, until it trips and falls on it's face. Ash then asks Zuruggu if that is enough for now, to which Zuruggu responds by headbutting Ash.

The scene then switches to Team Rocket. Jessie, James and MTR are speaking with Flint via a laptop from a secret location. Flint asks them if they have the meteorite in question, to which Meowth responds in the affirmative. Flint gives them their next rendezvous location, a building on the other side of town, and tells them not to be late. James remarks that they do not have long until the rendezvous, and Jessie says they should go.

The scene then switches back to Ash and his friends. It is now early evening, and the gang and their Pokémon are gathered around eating dinner. Ash invites Zuruggu to come and eat dinner with the rest of them, but Zuruggu refuses. Iris observes that it is hard to know what Zuruggu is thinking, and Dent posits that it might be upset that it lost to Ash's other Pokémon. Ash asks Zuruggu if that is true.
