== Romanizations ==
We use the official copyrighted romanizations of the Japanese Pokémon names: for example, Krabby's Japanese name is クラブ, romanized if you were merely going syllable by syllable as Kurabu. It is, however, copyrighted as (and pretty obvious that it actually is meant to be) "Crab".
A similar example is Pikachu: ピカチュウ romanizes to Pikachyuu. Mewtwo: ミュウツー romanizes as Myuutsu. Just because it may end up pronounced in Japanese in that manner doesn't mean that it's actually meant as that. You know how American tourists are well known for going to other countries and messing up their languages, well, speakers of Japanese have a hard time with English words as well: it's because the languages are so evolutionarily distinct that it's really hard to switch between them.
...besides. Many people pronounce "Groudon" as "Ground-don". We don't put an n in there because of that.
...wow. Um. Didn't mean to rant or anything on your talk page. Think it'd be an idea for me to put this on the MOS? {{:User:TTEchidna/sig}} 18:03, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
