1998 KFC promotional Pokémon toys/Kids' Meal: Difference between revisions

In 1998, {{wp|KFC}} collaborated with Pokémon to distribute a set of '''KFC promotional Pokémon toys''' in {{pmin|the United States}} from November 15, 1998 to January 3, 1999.<ref>[http://web.archive.org/web/19990218090909/http://www.nintendo.com/corp/press/kfc.html Nintendo press release - KFC Adds Monsters To Its Menu] (archive)</ref> Various toys were bundled with Kids' Meals, while some were simply available for purchase at KFC. Four beanbag plush toys of {{p|Vulpix}}, {{p|Dratini}}, {{p|Seel}}, and {{p|Zubat}} could be purchased with any meal at KFC for $4.99 USD<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XOMPfmqbcM YouTube - KFC Pokemon USA Commercial] (retrieved May 1, 2012)</ref> between November 9 and December 20, 1998.<ref>[http://web.archive.org/web/19990218090909/http://www.nintendo.com/corp/press/kfc.html Nintendo press release - KFC Adds Monsters To Its Menu] (archive)</ref> Unlike the Kids' Meal promotional toys, these beanbag plush toys were not bundled with Kids' Meals, and instead were sold separately. Each plush toy came with a circular shaped "Special Edition" tag attached to the toy itself, which identifies the toys as part of this promotion. The toys were made by {{wp|Applause Inc.}} which created other [[Applause Inc. plush toys|Pokémon Plush Toys]] as well.
