Iris's Excadrill: Difference between revisions

Excadrill, as a {{p|Drilbur}}, first met Iris as child after tormenting some {{p|Patrat}} and stealing their food. She challenged him and after being defeated countless times, Iris finally managed to get the better of the Drilbur and got him tangled in some vines. Unfortunately, he was dangling over a cliff. Iris saved him from a deadly fall and the two they began training together. Drilbur won all of his matches through one-hit KOs, never taking a hit in the process. They eventually entered a tournament, where he evolved into Excadrill while battling a trainer's {{p|Druddigon}} and won, earning Iris a streak of ninety-nine straight wins. Iris, looking to get her 100th win against a Dragon Master, challenged [[Drayden]] to a battle which he happily accepted. Excadrill put up a good fight against Drayden's powerful {{p|Haxorus}}, but he found himself taking hits for the first time.  Haxorus soon knocked Excadrill out, and Excadrill, ashamed of having lost and thinking he let Iris down, closed himself off from her.

Excadrill, just like [[Ash's Charizard]] and [[Dawn's Mamoswine]] before him, did not listen to his Trainer in his debut. However, unlike the other two, this was not in disloyalty to his Trainer. In reality, Excadrill is a very proud Pokémon who was once very caring towards his Trainer. But after a devastating defeat, he becomes very upset to the point of hiding his face from Iris for years and distrustful of her advice in battle, fearful that it would make him lose again. He later reassured himself after learning {{m|Focus Blast|a new attack}} and opens up to his [[Iris (anime)|Trainer]] once again.

Excadrill, as a Drilbur, was somewhat childish when it stole apples and abusing a group of {{p|Patrat}}. However, after evolution, Excadrill has shown very little emotion, except for in battle. Like [[Ash's Snivy]], Excadrill has a passion for battling and won't ever give up, no matter what the circumstances. He always looks for different ways to improve.
