::I never said it was a saying (like in a saying with a certain meaning that is important enough to be mentioned in the article.) It is merely a common expression that came before Fall Out Boy. Looking at the article's discussion page, you will find an entry from 2008 agreeing with me: ""Thanks for the memories" has been a saying long before Fall Out Boy turned it into a song."
