::It's true that "starter" has sometimes been informally used in promotional material to this day. However, "first partner" has been used in the game dialogue from Generations V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX, as well as in Masters and GO, and in some promotional material (including for the games as well as for the TCG), and we have a quote specifically saying that "first partner" is officially preferred instead of "starter". | |||
