:Based on the uses of both terms documented on the terminology of first partner Pokémon page, I don't believe "starter" has seen more consistent use officially. If you know of further relevant examples, feel free to add them to that page. --Apopheniac (talk) 13:25, 7 April 2024 (UTC)

::It's true that "starter" has sometimes been informally used in promotional material to this day. However, "first partner" has been used in the game dialogue from Generations V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX, as well as in Masters and GO, and in some promotional material (including for the games as well as for the TCG), and we have a quote specifically saying that "first partner" is officially preferred instead of "starter".
::In March 16, there was an official tweet saying "POV: Sprigatito is your first partner Pokémon". In April 5, there was another official tweet saying "Welcome Paldean starters." However, we are obviously not going to edit the terminology used in all the Bulbapedia pages back and forth based on whatever was mentioned in the latest tweet.
::If someone personally does not like "first partner", I'm not sure why complain at Bulbapedia specifically. Bulbapedia is not the only Pokémon website in the world that is using the officially preferred term which is "first partner". --Daniel Carrero (talk) 14:34, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
