'''Howling Shield of Eternity''' (Japanese: '''流星にほえる赤き盾''') was the eighth and final [[legendary event]] in {{g|Masters EX}}. It was focused on the [[sync pair]] {{mas|Hop}} and {{p|Zamazenta}}. This pair could be teamed up with by completing the final story area of the event, ''Strongest Siblings''.  

The sync pair [[Sygna Suit]] {{mas|Leon}} and {{TP|Leon|Eternatus}} was also introduced in this event, which were the first sync pair capable of using [[Max Move]]s. As such, a tutorial battle for [[Dynamax]] was included in this event, and the "Sygna Suit Leon Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Leon and Eternatus for the duration of the event.

During this event, players could earn Legendary Prize Coins L from battles that could be used to draw items from a prize box pool. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Challenge Raihan, which could each only be challenged once per day. If the grand prize was drawn from the prize box, players could advance to the next prize pool. The grand prizes in the prize box included area info for event story areas, sync orbs for Hop and Zamazenta, 5★ Scout Tickets, Custom ★ Power-Ups for Hop and Zamazenta, a 4★ Support Move Candy, a Support Move Candy Coin, and a Tech Move Candy Coin. Extra Prize Coins were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

The player could battle using Sygna Suit Leon and Eternatus, {{mas|Leon}} and {{TP|Leon|Charizard}}, or {{mas|Gloria}} and {{p|Zacian}} to obtain +0.6× bonus Prize Coins; {{mas|Piers}} and {{p|Obstagoon}}, {{mas|Marnie}} and {{p|Morpeko}}, or {{mas|Raihan}} and {{p|Duraludon}} to obtain +0.4× bonus Prize Coins; and Hop and Zamazenta, {{mas|Professor Sycamore}} and {{p|Xerneas}}, {{mas|Clair}} and {{p|Kingdra}}, or {{mas|Molayne}} and {{p|Dugtrio}} to earn +0.2× bonus Prize Coins.
