Juliana meets up with Arven, Nemona, and Penny at her house, where her mother gives her a letter from Kieran, inviting Juliana and her friends to visit him in Kitakami. The group happily accepts the invitation and travels to Mossui Town. Soon after their arrival, however, more and more people start acting oddly, performing a weird dance while repeating the word "mochi" over and over. Starting from Carmine, the odd behavior spreads out to the other villagers of Mossui Town, forcing Juliana and Kieran to investigate. They discover that the unusual activity is caused by mochi created by the [[Mythical Pokémon]] {{ga|Pecharunt}}, which also manages to put Arven, Penny, and Nemona under its spell. Chasing the culprit to [[Loyalty Plaza]], Kieran holds off the controlled villagers while Juliana first confronts a possessed Nenoma and then Pecharunt itself.
