For the majority of Pokémon, only the male appearence is shown. However, it does not apply for Shellos, Gastrodon, Unfezant, Frillish and Jellycent. Shellos and Gastrodon are region-based in several (all?) games, so displaying both appearances is justified, but it does not apply for Unfezant, Frillish and Jellycent.
