Infernape made a return in [[JN068]]. {{an|Professor Oak}} revealed that Infernape continued to train on its own after Ash had left for Unova, so much to the point that he rarely saw it around his lab. As of late, Infernape had been pursuing {{type|Fire}} Pokémon specifically, even picking fights with Ash's [[Ash's Charizard|other]] [[Ash's Quilava|Fire]]-[[Ash's Pignite|type]] [[Ash's Talonflame|Pokémon]] (except {{AP|Torkoal}}). This, in conjunction with the fact that both Infernape and {{an|Gary}} were currently in pursuit of the legendary Fire-type {{p|Moltres}}, gave Ash the desire to reunite with Infernape and help it in its quest to battle with the Flame Pokémon. However, Moltres proved to be too much for Infernape, so it backed down. At the end of the episode, Infernape explained its reasoning for picking fights with its Fire-type comrades, who forgave it. | |||
