Pokémon world: Difference between revisions

The Pokémon world is split into several [[region]]s. Typical mainland regions like [[Kanto]], [[Johto]], and [[Unova]] are mountainous landmasses with mild climates that resemble continents in the [[Pokémon world in relation to the real world|real world]]. Off these landmasses are often scattered islands that make up separate, smaller archipelago regions like the [[Orange Archipelago|Orange]] and [[Decolore Islands]]. Some regions, such as [[Sinnoh]], have very few water-based [[routes]], whereas much travel in other regions, such as [[Hoenn]], is dependent on their many water-based routes. Though there are many similarities between the regions, there are some major differences between them, such as what [[Pokémon]] are located there and what legends there are waiting to be uncovered. Visitors from other regions quickly realize that the regions they visit are far from their home, both in the way of the climate change, and in the culture of the people residing there. The regions are generally thought to be part of a larger country because of the term [[National Pokédex]], but they are all perhaps part of a {{wp|world nation}}. Several small kingdoms have been introduced in the {{pkmn|anime}} as well, most of which keep themselves secluded in remote or difficult to reach areas.
