Lyra appears on the screen, the documentary talking about Johto's features, focusing on [[Ecruteak City]] and the [[Kimono Girl]]s, bringing back Ash's memories of his previous travels throughout the Johto [[region]]. Lyra leads them to a [[Drink|MooMoo Milk]] stand that her friend Khoury runs. Dawn notices a {{p|Totodile}} behind the counter and scans it. Piplup and Pikachu try to meet, but Totodile doesn't respond to the friend request as well as its [[Pokémon food]]. Brock samples it and says that it is too sweet, asking for [[Chesto Berry|Chesto Berries]]. Brock mashes the berries and adds it to the food, which makes it more appealing to Totodile, allowing it to chow down on the food. Lyra calls Dawn up to the field to {{pkmn|battle}} Chikorita with Piplup. The crowd applauds as she accepts, stepping up to the platform. Lyra reveals that if Dawn wins, Lyra will give her a prize. Piplup jumps to battle, even though Chikorita has a [[Elemental type|type]] [[Damage modification|advantage]]. Khoruy's father starts the battle as Chikorita hits with {{m|Razor Leaf}}. Piplup rebounds and fires {{m|BubbleBeam}}, but a {{m|Light Screen}} blocks it. Piplup charges with {{m|Peck}} and hits before following up with another BubbleBeam. Another Light Screen blocks it, but it is clearly weaker. Another Peck attack breaks the shield and [[Unable to battle|knocks out]] Chikorita, giving Dawn the win.
