POKéMON 151 is an adult-oriented Pokémon clothing line of T-shirts, featuring stylized designs of Generation I Pokémon illustrated by the Japanese design studio POLYGRAPH. So far released T-shirt designs feature Kakuna, Graveler, Hypno, Cubone, Tangela, Articuno, Mewtwo and Mew. The clothing line is designed to appeal to older or previous Pokémon fans who prefer or are nostalgic about the first generation of Pokémon. It is a tribute to the first two games released in Japan on February 27, 1996, which was shown by "19960227" in the URLs of the official site.
The official Web site and online shop opened June 26, 2008 at the same time as the official sales start in Pokémon Center stores. On November 21 it was announced that the site would close December 31, 2008.
