Now head back up to Viridian City and, what the heck, why not train a bit more? Try to get to level ten for now. Once back in the City, head to the Poké Mart and buy 5 Poké Balls. Now head north and you'll notice that the old man blocking the road before has now "had his coffee" and "feels great!" If you tell him that you're not in a hurry, he will show you how to capture a Pokémon. Head back south to the nearest patch of tall grass and catch a Pidgey and a Rattata. Raise them both to the same level as your starter Pokémon by training them against other wild Pokémon, just like you did before. Now you're well on your way to having a great Pokémon adventure!
