Sunny Day (Japanese: にほんばれ Clear Sky) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II.
Effect
When this move is used the sunlight will brighten on the field. This effect will last for 5 turns. This clears any other weather effect.
While Sunny Day is in effect the base power of Template:T2 moves will be increased by 50% and the base power of Template:Type2 and Template:Type2 moves will be decreased by 50%. In addition to this, the moves Synthesis, Morning Sun and Moonlight will recover 66% of the user's max HP, and SolarBeam will not require a turn to charge.
As of Generation IV, a held item known as Heat Rock can be used to lengthen the duration from 5 to 8 turns.
