Biology
Biology
Physiology
Miltank is a bipedal, bovine Pokémon, which can only be female. Its body is mostly pink, with a yellow belly and black, angular markings along its back. A black hood-like marking surrounds its face with a pink, triangular mark on its forehead. There are two small horns on top of its head. It has large, blue eyes, a black nose, and a wide mouth, as well as long, black, floppy ears with yellow insides. Miltank has a yellow udder with four pink teats. All four of its limbs end in black, cloven hooves, and its long tail is tipped with a black sphere. In The Young Flame Strikes Back!, a smaller Miltank was shown without any horns or teats, implying that this is what young Miltank look like.
Miltank is a mostly pink colored bipedal cow with small horns and a long tail with a black ball in the end. She has a cream colored belly with four udders. She also has black spots on its back and a black "hood".

In every generation except for Generations VI and VII, Milk Drink is the signature move of Miltank. Prior to Generation VI, Miltank was the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Milk Drink. The milk that it produces is sweet and very nutritious, and can be used to heal Pokémon and ill or weary humans. Drinking a large amount of Miltank's milk will cause the Pokémon or person to gain weight and develop stomach pains. The taste and nutrition of its milk improves with the quality of the pastures it lives in, and the taste itself changes with the season. It can produce over five gallons of milk per day, which in turn can be turned into yogurt or enjoyed unchanged by children and adults alike. Miltank can become ill if it is not milked every day. Miltank lives in List of Pokémon by habitat, and is also raised on farms. Miltank has been supporting the lives of people and other Pokémon since ancient times with its ability to produce milk.

Game data
NPC appearances
* : The Moomoo Farm has a herd of Miltank. The Miltank that provides milk is ill until the player feeds it a certain amount of Berries.
* Miltank acts as the milklady of Lively Town in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon and can often be found making her rounds in the city. After the story is cleared, she can be connected with the player and will be usable. It is also revealed that she has hired both Krookodile and Krokorok though the two often slack off during work.

Behavior
By TM/TR
Unlike Tauros, Miltank are much more placid Pokémon and spend most of their time eating and digesting grass and other plants. However, they also possess a stubborn streak may be unwilling to comply if they don't receive the proper training required. When properly trained, they can be a very useful asset, both in milking and battling.

Trivia
Trivia
* Miltank is the only Female-only Pokémon that had its male counterpart, Tauros, introduced in a different Generation.
* Miltank can be seen as a counterpart to Tauros. Both are bovine-like Pokémon with the same base stat total. While Miltank is a female-only species, Tauros is a male-only species.
* In the anime, people have eaten or stated that they desire Hamburger, which usually are made from the meat of cows. Since Miltank are cow Pokémon, it is speculated that people may or may not eat Miltank, or possibly even Tauros.
** Despite not being associated with a certain group, both Miltank and Tauros are listed in the same Pokédex page in Sun and Moon and Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The same trait is true with Oranguru and Passimian.
* The spots shown on a Miltank's back sprite seems to change with each new Generation.
* Miltank's Silver and FireRed Pokédex entries imply that Miltank gives live birth like real-world mammals, despite the fact that Pokémon reproduce via Eggs.
* Despite it being based on a cow, and having a heavy weight, it is seen in its sprites and anime that it can stand on its hind legs.
* Miltank's Shiny was a light white color, similar to milk, before Generation 4, where it became a shade of blue.

Origin
Origin
Miltank is based on female cattle. It shares many traits with jersey cattle, a kind of dairy cow.

Name origin
Name origin
Miltank's name is a combination of milk and tank, a storage container for liquid.  The tank part of Miltank's name could also refer to her tank-like defense stats.
