Gallade (Japanese: エルレイド Erureido) is a dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves from a male Kirlia when exposed to a Dawn Stone. It is one of Ralts's final forms, the other being Gardevoir.

Gallade can Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade using the Galladite.

It evolves from Kirlia♂ by Dawn Stone. It is one of the final forms of Ralts.
It, along with Gardevoir, is said to be a relative of the Paradox Pokémon Iron Valiant or a version of it from a different timeline.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Gallade is a white, bipedal, bishōnen-like Pokémon. Its lower body consists of rounded hips with strong legs. It has a thin green torso with sharp, red horns sticking out of its chest and back. Its arms resemble tonfas with extendable, blade-like elbows. Its head resembles a gladiator's helmet with a white face, red eyes, and a teal head crest. It has spikes on the sides of its face.
The mini-skirt that Gallade had as a Kirlia has disappeared, though its body is hourglass-shaped and its lower torso almost resembles a kilt. Gallade has white legs that are wider than its counterpart, Gardevoir's. Like Gardevoir, it also has a red horn protruding from its chest and another red horn sticking out of its back, but these are both smaller, the same length and sharper. Unlike Gardevoir, however, Gallade's arms have blade-like protrusions at the elbows, and its head is shaped somewhat like a gladiator's helmet. Gallade also happens to be a darker shade of green than the other members of its evolutionary line. Gallade, like its counterpart Gardevoir, has spikes to the back of his eyes.

Gender Differences
It is a master of courtesy and swordsmanship capable of predicting its foe's moves, allowing it to strike preemptively. True to Gallade's honorable warrior image, it is just as protective of its Trainer as its counterpart, Gardevoir, using the blades on its elbows to defend. The shoulder blades are said to be sharper than even the best swords. Gallade is known to be sharply aware of a person's wish for help and seeks out those who need its assistance in battle, fighting savagely with fast and fierce attacks. It is capable of teaching itself swordsmanship at an impressive rate. As shown in Pokemon Adventures, Gallade can extend its blades at will to attack opponents from behind. This Pokémon inhabits mountainous areas.

Gallade is male-only, evolving from a male Kirlia when exposed to the Dawn Stone. However, a Kirlia of either gender can evolve into a Gardevoir at level 30 instead.
Forms
Gallade can Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade.

Special abilities
As Mega Gallade, its entire body becomes white, save for its head. Red plates emerge from its arms, its blue head crest grows slightly longer, and the spikes on its head are elongated. It also gains two cape-like protrusions on its back, giving it a knightly appearance.
Gallade, thanks to its arm blades, which he can withdraw and extend to two lengths, can learn a variety of sword-like attacks in several types. These include Leaf Blade, Night Slash, and the rarely known Psycho Cut. As with other Fighting Pokémon, Gallade can summon Earthquakes, and launch rocks at his opponents (in the forms of Stone Edge, Rock Slide or Rock Tomb). Since Gallade is a fully-evolved Pokémon, he can learn Hyper Beam or Giga Impact.

Behavior
When the situation demands it, Mega Gallade can use its psychic power to reshape both arms into blades simultaneously and fight using a dual-wielding style. Iron Valiant bears a resemblance to a combined Mega Gallade and Mega Gardevoir.
Gallade are masters of courtesy and swordsmanship.

Trivia
Trivia
*Although Gallade was likely created to prevent confusion due to Gardevoir's distinctly feminine appearance, there can still be male Gardevoir. Kirlia, their shared pre-evolution, has a distinctly feminine appearance as well.
* Gallade's Attack and Special Attack stats are the reverse of Gardevoir's, while their other stats are identical.
*Gallade's Attack and Special Attack are the reverse of Gardevoir.
* Gallade's number in the Sinnoh Pokédex (Platinum only) and the Almia Browser are the same: 160.
*Gallade's number in the Sinnoh Dex in Platinum and the Almia Browser is the same: 160. This makes him and his evolution family one of only four families of Pokémon (comprising eleven Pokémon altogether) to have the same numbers in more than one Pokédex-like listing.
* Gallade and Gardevoir are the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that are in the same evolutionary family.
*Gallade is the last Fighting Pokémon in National Dex order.
** In addition, Gallade is the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that evolves from exposure to an Evolution stone.
*Gallade's cry sounds like a sword being sharpened.
* As of Generation VIII, Gallade and its evolutionary relatives are the only Pokémon that are in the Amorphous and Human-Like Egg Groups.
* Gallade is the only Fighting Pokémon in the Amorphous Egg Group.
* Gallade is the only Generation IV Pokémon with a Paradox Pokémon counterpart.
* Gallade is the only Pokémon introduced prior to Generation VIII to have Sharpness as an Ability, and the only Pokémon to have Sharpness as a non-Hidden Ability.
* In Generation IX, prior to the Version 2.0.1 update of Scarlet and Violet, Gallade was unable to learn Metronome via TM, while its pre-evolutions could.

Origin
Origin
Gallade may be based on a Roman gladiator.
The single fin on Gallade's head resembles the helmet worn by murmillo-class Roman gladiators, or the Corinthian helmet with a horsehair crest worn by Greek hoplites, but it may also be based on medieval knights. Additionally, its battle stances in various media resemble the en garde position and parries of modern fencing, while the elbow swords themselves have a close resemblance to tonfas, wooden bars held against the arm to act as batons and arm guards. The red piece on its chest may represent the heart, alluding to the empathic and protective nature of its evolutionary family mixed with chivalry of a knight.

Mega Gallade's cape is similar to a superhero cape or matador or bullfighter's fabric.

Name origin
Name origin
Gallade may be a combination of gladiator, gallant, and blade. It may also be a reference to Galahad. Erlade might be a combination of Earl (meaning chieftain), or elbow, and blade, referring to the sword-like appendages on its arms.
Gallade may be a combination of gallant and blade.

Erureido may be a combination of elbow or earl, and blade. It may also involve 居合道 iaido, a Japanese martial art of responding to attacks with swift swordplay.
