Gallade (Japanese: エルレイド Erureido) is a dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves from a male Kirlia when exposed to a Dawn Stone. It is one of Ralts's final forms, the other being Gardevoir.

Gallade can Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade using the Galladite.

Gallade comes with the ability Steadfast, which increases Gallade's speed by 1.5 when it flinches.
It, along with Gardevoir, is said to be a relative of the Paradox Pokémon Iron Valiant or a version of it from a different timeline.

Gallade begins its evolutionary chain as Ralts, then evolves into Kirlia at Lv.20. If the Kirlia is male, a Dawn Stone can be used on it to evolve it into Gallade. If a Dawn Stone is not used and evolution is not canceled, the Kirlia will evolve into Gardevoir naturally at Lv.30. It is one of two Pokémon that the byproduct of evolution with a Dawn Stone, the other being Froslass.
Biology
Gallade is a white, bipedal, bishōnen-like Pokémon. Its lower body consists of rounded hips with strong legs. It has a thin green torso with sharp, red horns sticking out of its chest and back. Its arms resemble tonfas with extendable, blade-like elbows. Its head resembles a gladiator's helmet with a white face, red eyes, and a teal head crest. It has spikes on the sides of its face.

Biology
It is a master of courtesy and swordsmanship capable of predicting its foe's moves, allowing it to strike preemptively. True to Gallade's honorable warrior image, it is just as protective of its Trainer as its counterpart, Gardevoir, using the blades on its elbows to defend. The shoulder blades are said to be sharper than even the best swords. Gallade is known to be sharply aware of a person's wish for help and seeks out those who need its assistance in battle, fighting savagely with fast and fierce attacks. It is capable of teaching itself swordsmanship at an impressive rate. As shown in Pokemon Adventures, Gallade can extend its blades at will to attack opponents from behind. This Pokémon inhabits mountainous areas.
Physiology
The mini-skirt that Gallade had as a Kirlia has disappeared, though its body is hourglass-shaped and its lower torso almost resembles a kilt. Gallade has white legs that are wider than its counterpart, Gardevoir's. Like its Gardevoir, it also has a red horn protruding from its chest and another red horn sticking out of its back, but unlike Gardevoir these are smaller and sharper. Unlike Gardevoir, however, Gallade's arms have blade-like protrusions at the elbows, and its head is shaped somewhat like a gladiator's helmet.

Gender differences
Forms
Gallade is male-only, evolving from a male Kirlia when exposed to the Dawn Stone. However, a Kirlia of either gender can evolve into a Gardevoir at level 30.
Gallade can Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade.

Special abilities
As Mega Gallade, its entire body becomes white, save for its head. Red plates emerge from its arms, its blue head crest grows slightly longer, and the spikes on its head are elongated. It also gains two cape-like protrusions on its back, giving it a knightly appearance.
Gallade, thanks to its arm blades, can learn a variety of sword-like attacks in several types. These include Leaf Blade, Night Slash, and the rarely known Psycho Cut. As with other Fighting-type Pokémon, Gallade can summon Earthquakes, launch rocks at his opponents (in either the form Stone Edge, Rock Slide or Rock Tomb).  Since Gallade is a fully-evolved Pokémon, he can learn Hyper Beam or Giga Impact.

Behavior
When the situation demands it, Mega Gallade can use its psychic power to reshape both arms into blades simultaneously and fight using a dual-wielding style. Iron Valiant bears a resemblance to a combined Mega Gallade and Mega Gardevoir.
Gallade are masters of courtesy and swordsmanship.

Trivia
* Gallade's Attack and Special Attack stats are the reverse of Gardevoir's, while their other stats are identical.
* Gallade's number in the Sinnoh Pokédex (Platinum only) and the Almia Browser are the same: 160.
* Gallade and Gardevoir are the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that are in the same evolutionary family.
** In addition, Gallade is the only Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution that evolves from exposure to an Evolution stone.
* As of Generation VIII, Gallade and its evolutionary relatives are the only Pokémon that are in the Amorphous and Human-Like Egg Groups.
* Gallade is the only Fighting Pokémon in the Amorphous Egg Group.
* Gallade is the only Generation IV Pokémon with a Paradox Pokémon counterpart.

Origin
The single fin on Gallade's head resembles the helmet worn by murmillo-class Roman gladiators, or the Corinthian helmet with a horsehair crest worn by Greek hoplites, but it may also be based on medieval knights. Additionally, its battle stances in various media resemble the en garde position and parries of modern fencing, while the elbow swords themselves have a close resemblance to tonfas, wooden bars held against the arm to act as batons and arm guards. The red piece on its chest may represent the heart, alluding to the empathic and protective nature of its evolutionary family mixed with chivalry of a knight.

Sprites
Mega Gallade's cape is similar to a superhero cape or matador or bullfighter's fabric.

Trivia
Name origin
Origin
Gallade may be a combination of gallant and blade.
* Gallade may be based on a Roman gladiator.
* Gallade was possibly introduced as a solution, or nod, to the complaints that a clearly feminine Pokémon such as Gardevoir could also be male. Male Gardevoir, however, are still possible to obtain and there remain other Pokémon of a specific gender-based design to still be available in both genders, such as Machoke.
* Gallade also bares a strong resembleance to Link from the Legend of Zelda series.
Name origin
Gallade may be a combination of gladiator/gallant/blade/lad.

Erlade might be a combination of Earl (meaning chieftain) and blade, referring to the sword-like appendages on its arms.
Erureido may be a combination of elbow or earl, and blade. It may also involve 居合道 iaido, a Japanese martial art of responding to attacks with swift swordplay.
