It will be released in English on August 11, 2023, and in Japanese on July 28, 2023.

Obsidian Flames includes cards from the Japanese Ruler of the Black Flame expansion, the {{TCG|ex Special Set}}, and the {{TCG|ex Start Decks}}, as well as the remaining cards from the {{TCG|Snow Hazard}} and {{TCG|Clay Burst}} sets that weren't included in {{TCG|Paldea Evolved}}. Obsidian Flames contains 15 Pokémon ex, six Tera Pokémon ex, 12 {{TCG|illustration rare}} Pokémon, six {{TCG|special illustration rare}} Pokémon and Supporter cards, 12 {{TCG|ultra rare}} full-art etched Pokémon ex and Supporter cards, and three {{TCG|hyper rare}} gold etched cards.

Obsidian Flames will be available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Ruler of the Black Flame will be released in Japanese on July 28, 2023, followed by localized releases in Traditional Chinese on August 11, 2023.
