I just found out that Shauna called her Skitty "Neko" instead of "Kitty" in PS593. This this verifies the mini-volume version made an error which I had updated with on that page, I would like for you to revert the Kitty Image back to Neko, while I will handle the rest. -Tyler53841 (talk) 14:54, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

To Be a Pokémon Master
I was wondering, since the "In other languages" section for this arc has recently been added on the S25 page as well, maybe it would be more appropriate to keep only the titles based on the Japanese version in the Pokémon Journeys: The Series page, while those based on the English dub can stay in Season 25. This would also be similar to how the XY&Z arc and the XYZ season were handled. What do you think?--Ricbolog1310 (talk) 12:20, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
:I would recommend replacing the table with a see also link going to the Horizons page, that way people who are looking for it from the S25 page will be directed there. --Abcboy (talk) 13:15, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

List of Hindi Pokemon names
I think the List of Hindi Pokemon names could do with another column with the translation of pokemon names into hindi, along with just the transliterations. For example, #1006 Iron Valiant becomes आइरनयोद्धा Āiranyoddhā, which is literally Iron Warrior (योद्धा yoddhā being the Hindi word for warrior). Another example is that the transliteration for #794 Buzzwhole is मसलबज़ Masalbaz, but saying the name aloud is literally Muscle-buzz. While this can also be added to the "In other languages" section on each species pages, which would also allow to add the etymology, I feel that the entire list page should also contain an extra column for a "translated name" or something of that sort. A compromise would be using tt, but I'm not a fan of that one since it reduces accessibility on mobile devices. Is there any other way to do this, since adding an extra column would mean editing the lop/foreign template which is used on other pages too. → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 15:06, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
:For now, I think it'd be best to add the name meanings to the individual Pokémon pages. If at some point, an official source writes these names in romanized Hindi, then I could see a column being added for that like on the Japanese/Korean name lists. But otherwise, I don't think the name lists are the right place for unofficial translations. --Abcboy (talk) 16:15, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
::I do see your point; however, the "romanization" column on the list page is equally unofficial. The Hindi Pokédex only lists the Hindi spellings for the names. The romanization column is according to the Wikitionary tranliteration. Those are great for pointing out how the names sound if an Latin alphabet reader wanted to read them, but they do not give any information about the Pokemon name itself. Native Hindi speakers, who also have knowledge about Pokemon, could easily point out that for example, in the case of Iron Valiant, the literal transliteration might come off as Āiranyoddhā, but for all purposes, it is Iron Yoddha. I think even if just the transliterations are corrected, instead of fully translating them, it should be enough. → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 20:36, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
::Additionally, in the case of Gen 1 species (atleast that I've seen for now), the Hindi names are the same as English names. For instance, बल्बासॉर, चारमैंडर, and स्क्वर्टल have become Balbāsŏr, Cārmaiṇḍar, and Skvarṭal according to the Wiktionary transliteration, but they are literally Hindi spellings for Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. (When Raltseye started the page, they were directly converting the English names into Devnagari script, but I guess now we have an "official" spelling. At least for the ones whose names were not changed completely.) Thus to reiterate my earlier point, maybe the transliteration column should be corrected in this way. → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 20:52, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
:::The point of the transliteration columns on all of the the foreign language lists is to neutrally reflect the pronunciation of the name in that particular language, including the limitations of the language (like how व is used for va and wa sounds in English).
:::I asked Adil for his opinion, and he said that it would be okay to add a column for the literal interpretations ("Bulbasaur", "Musclebuzz", "Iron Yoddha", etc.) to the list page. The name origins should still go on the individual Pokémon pages though (such as translating योद्धा yoddhā as "brave", or breaking down names into individual constituent words). I'll note that if there ends up being major arguments over how to interpret the names, the page might end up having to be protected. --Abcboy (talk) 03:50, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
indent Using a text dump linked to from your user page, I found this and this which contains all the Pokémon names directly spelled in Hindi. Is it worth mentioning on the list of Hindi Pokémon names article? Currently the page only mentions that Pokémon were referred to by their English names in spoken media like the anime. This is the first time I've seen some "official" Hindi spellings for English Pokémon names. Maybe the individual Pokémon articles can have both these Hindi spellings of English names, and the entirely new Hindi names? → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 08:08, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
:From what I can tell, those names from GO were never actually used, so I don't think they would count. There's been Hindi-language text in the Pokémon GO files for almost a year, but it didn't officially launch until September 15, by which point they had changed all the names in GO to the new ones. I did see that UNITE apparently has some names written in Hindi in Devanagari, so maybe that would be a better place to check. --Abcboy (talk) 08:31, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
::While I did not find any text dump for Pokémon Unite, I changed my app language, and the Pokemon section in this game has Hindi spellings for the English names of Pokemon (e.g., Buzzwhole is बज़वोल, not मसलबज़). I've added this to the trivia section for now, along with P-GO data information, as such. Not sure if it needs to be added to the top of the page of in the list. For now, I think that just adding the names directly on the Pokémon's page with an astrisk saying that this name is used only in Pokémon Unite might suffice. → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 09:53, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
indent By any chance, do you have access to a latest textdump of Pokémon GO? Some Pokémon use a different name in-game than the one on the official Hindi Pokedex. I was only able to check that for Hitmontop (which uses a Devnagari script spelling for its English name, unlike the Pokedex where it was renamed), but since I don't have a complete Pokdedex in-game, I was hoping I could check a text-dump for a complete list. Additionally, forms in-game are sometimes also given different names, while the Hindi Pokedex just refers to them by their English spellings. → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 15:28, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
:I've grabbed a more recent text dump from the version 0.287.0 APK (which came out a few days ago) and put it on GitHub here. It looks like it has most of the updated names, but it seems Seel, Natu, Xatu, Misdreavus, Mantine, Houndour, Hitmontop, Linoone, Starly, Pidove, and Garbodor at least are still using their English names. I made a tool to help decode the text from Pokémon GO here, but it's still a bit buggy. --Abcboy (talk) 15:35, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
::Would mentioning this in the trivia be enough for the list page? With the names directly on the individual Pokemon page, with an asterisk tooltip mentioning where it is used.  → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 18:45, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
:::Trivia should work; you can use the Thai or Russian pages as reference. I do think how the anime/UNITE/Sleep haven't yet transitioned to the new names isn't trivia, and should be in the intro, personally. There is some nonsense like वलिपक्स (Vulpix, or "Vulipux"),  िलिपलिप (Jynx, which I can't even type accurately), and अमीरगो (Gimmighoul and Gholdengo have the same name) that I doubt was intentional, and would make sense in trivia. --Abcboy (talk) 23:38, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
::::I've added a new usage section at the top, with only the errors being in the Trivia section. (Incidentally, I'd written a similar paragraph for the main pmin SA page.) While the Pokemon using their English names in Hindi script seems to be an oversight (and Gimmighoul using Goldhengo's name is just an obvious error), the misspellings of Vulpix & Jynx's names could be due to the limitation of Hindi character support in PGO you mention here. I might look into making a table for the other names, but I feel that adding such a table in the trivia section would be better when the table can be collapsed.
::::Regarding the anime, while the dub of S25 is being released weekly, it may have been produced before the names were localized (or atleast translated if not recorded), which is why they still use the Hindi names. Additionally I've found this article which seems to say that Niantic had a bigger hand than TPC in the new names, so it's possible that these names were not adopted by the other companies which handle their parts of the franchise independently. → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 00:43, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

Pokémon names in other languages
Hi. Should we create lists of Brazilian Portuguese and Turkish Pokémon names? These languages work just like Spanish and Italian, with most Pokémon using their English names, except for Type: Null and Paradox Pokémon. The prototype pages for these, of Brazilian Portuguese Pokémon names and of Turkish Pokémon names, list some Pokémon that have/had different pronunciations in the anime. Should these go in the trivia section or just be ignored? Also, Type: Null apparently got a Dutch name as well in the anime. Would you know any way to get confirmation on how its name is officially written? I'm guessing Paradox Pokémon will also get Dutch names. --RafaelGN (talk) 02:06, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
:I would recommend moving them to the trivia section and focusing on Type: Null and the Paradox Pokémon, especially since the spellings are not used in the games (GO, UNITE) and the anime is primarily an audiovisual medium. I can take a look at the names GO is using and update the drafts later today.
:For Type: Null, I would recommend checking Pokemon.com's episode summaries or the local broadcaster's subtitles/website. I think Netflix would have also had Dutch subtitles for the anime, but I'd have to check if anyone managed to save the subtitles before the series was removed from Netflix. It should just be a literal combination of the two words though, so in the worst case a speaker of the language could probably transcribe it correctly. --Abcboy (talk) 03:50, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
::So the main issue with Brazilian Portuguese and Turkish is that since Pokémon GO hasn't added the Paradox Pokémon yet, the only Pokémon that currently has a different name in a written medium is Type: Null. But once we have names for the Paradox Pokémon, I think there'd be enough to given them a page.
::For my own reference, Indonesian is no longer translating any Pokémon names, including Type: Null or the Paradox Pokémon. They used to have some different names, but not anymore. --Abcboy (talk) 08:20, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
:::With Brazilian Portuguese, we do have the TCG, so by Paradox Rift, we should get enough Paradox Pokémon to start the page. For now, we only have Type: Null, Great Tusk, and Iron Treads. As for Turkish, I guess waiting Pokémon GO is our only option.
:::About the Dutch Type: Null name, the episode summaries only call it Silvally, even before evolving. When User:Svenskig added the Dutch name "Soort: Null" to Type: Null's article, they noted "added Dutch name (though still not sure whether it's 'null' or 'nul'; in the anime it sounds like English 'null' rather than Dutch 'nul')". I think finding the subtitles might be our only option now. We should also keep an eye for a Danish name, as it is "Typ: Nul" in the article. I don't think there's enough difference there to be sure it's a translated name or not. --RafaelGN (talk) 09:09, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
::::Hi again. We now have 10 Brazilian Portuguese Paradox Pokémon names thanks to the TCG. Is it enough to mainspace the article? --RafaelGN (talk) 18:17, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
:::::Mainspaced on October 22. --Abcboy (talk) 23:38, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sold on the new "Special encounters" format that Amiosi is adding. Are they okay or not? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:16, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
:The format was discussed on Discord to accommodate adding information such as movesets, as well as expanding on missing details about unique mechanics such as respawn conditions; this includes moving away from the "Special Pokémon" language that was previously used for them. If you have any specific concerns with the format, please feel free to bring them up so that they can be addressed. --Abcboy (talk) 21:02, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

Bengali and Urdu Pokémon themes
I was just wondering that since there's an official South Asia of the anime now, is it possible to mainspace User:Yash Sen/List of Bengali Pokémon themes (Fan-dubbed) and User:Yash Sen/List of Urdu Pokémon themes? I have removed all the fan made stuffs from Bengali themes page and just needs to be renamed to remove (Fan-dubbed) from the page name. Asking for the Urdu dub since Hindi and Urdu are the same, with only writing system different. –Yash Sen 01:03, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
:Is Disney even airing the Bengali dub? The Bengali dub on the Pokémon Asia YouTube hasn't dubbed any of the openings, so unless Hungama/JioCinema added the Bengali dub, I don't think they've actually dubbed any songs. Since the Hindi/Urdu dubs are the same, I would recommend just adding the Urdu lyrics to the Hindi page. --Abcboy (talk) 01:37, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
::Disney doesn't have Bengali audio feeds as of now. However, certain other kids channels like Cartoon Network India, Nickelodean India, etc. have recently introduced new audio feeds with languages like Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, etc. so its likely that Disney may introduce more languages (other than English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu) as well in the near future and the anime may get dubbed into those languages (so they get more audiences). So Bengali themes page could be mainspaced when it happens. About Urdu, adding them in Hindi page doesn't seem much right as List of Hindi Pokémon themes is meant to be for Hindi, not Urdu. –Yash Sen 01:56, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
:::Alright, if there's no Bengali themes yet, then there's no point in mainspacing an empty page. If/when Disney adds a Bengali feed and dubs a theme into Bengali, then a page can be made. I'll consult with Adil about the Urdu lyrics. --Abcboy (talk) 01:59, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

Hey, I wanted to ask.. do you know when will S25 be available on Netflix worldwide? I think the Arabic dub has already been added to the season (because the opening theme has been uploaded to Youtube by some users), but the season itself is not yet available in any Arabic speaking country. I had stopped using it anyway, but if possible, I would like the older revisions to be restored so I can have the history of my code tests which can be used for customizing other templates and testing purposes. ::::Weirdly, had to purge the page a second time before it worked. Sorry about that and thanks! → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 19:17, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Hello again. Would it be a good idea to add a caption (like this one) to Template:YouTubeEmbed (and Template:YouTubeVid, Template:BilibiliEmbed, etc) so that all the captions can be moved into the template itself; so that there is no need for extra div wrappers when trying to make the layout responsive? (Also, thank you for mainspacing User:PikaTepig999/PokéMiku nav) → <span class="blacklinks">PikaTepig999</span> 05:50, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
:Can I ask where captions are currently being used with that template? I think it's a good idea, but I want to see it in actual usage and see if there's any potential issues that should be addressed before adding it to other templates. --Abcboy (talk) 15:53, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
::Pages where both English and Japanese videos are embedded, such as Challenge the World!#Videos. They are separate sections for each videos. Detective Pikachu & the Mystery of the Missing Flan#Video used to be the same, until I added a flex wrapper to display them both in the same row. A sample of code currently needed for such a display is (cut out the non-essential parts):
<pre style=margin-left:3.2em;>
<div style="display: flex; justify-content: space-evenly; align-items: center; flex-wrap:wrap;">
<div style="margin:auto">
English
YouTubeEmbed
</div>
<div style="margin:auto">
Japanese
YouTubeEmbed
</div>
</div>
</pre>
::but if the template itself has a caption parameter, it can just be
<pre style=margin-left:3.2em;>
<div style="display: flex; justify-content: space-evenly; align-items: center; flex-wrap:wrap;">

</div>
</pre>
::This would work similar to the Pokemon/9 template, where I had to wrap the caption in a div for the responsive layout, but now it can just be one container. → <span class="blacklinks">PikaTepig999</span> 17:23, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
