Ultra Deep Sea is a dark cave with several colorful rocks on the walls that resemble diamonds. It is a small area with a long dark stone path. The player can see several Nihilego floating in the area. There is a small rock in the middle of the area that the player can sit on to attract the local Nihilego.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Ultra Deep Sea can be accessed through Rarity 1 warp holes in [[Ultra Warp Ride]], within a couple of thousand {{wp|light-year}}s of Alola. Nihilego can be encountered and caught here, with the first being summoned by sitting in the spot Lusamine was seated in Sun and Moon.

Each of Lusamine's Pokémon has an aura that boosts one of its stats, similar to the auras of the [[Totem Pokémon]]. Her Pokémon all have a perpetual angry expression (the same expression as when the Pokémon uses a [[Z-Move]]).

Ultra Deep Sea appeared in ''[[SM053|Rescuing the Unwilling!]]'' and ''[[SM054|10,000,000 Reasons to Fight!]]'', where {{Ash}} and {{ashcl}} traveled there with {{DL|Light trio (anime)|Solgaleo|Nebby}} in order to save {{an|Lusamine}}, who had been kidnapped and taken there by a {{DL|Ultra Beasts (anime)|Nihilego}}. Upon arrival, the group saw multiple Nihilego floating around, and soon discovered the one that had kidnapped Lusamine. Unfortunately, the {{an|Ultra Beasts|Ultra Beast}} had fused with Lusamine and was affecting her mental state, causing her to fall into childish tantrums and be unwilling to leave, sending out her Pokémon to battle the group. The group chose to split up to battle each Pokémon, with {{an|Kiawe}} battling Lusamine's {{p|Salazzle}}; {{an|Lana}}, {{an|Mallow}}, {{an|Sophocles}} facing {{p|Milotic}}, {{p|Lilligant}}, and {{p|Mismagius}}; {{an|Gladion}} taking on {{p|Absol}}; and {{an|Lillie}} facing {{TP|Lusamine|Clefable}}. Like Lusamine herself, her Pokémon were also under Nihilego's influence, causing them to rise back up even when it seemed like they were finally beaten. Lillie managed to use her [[Poké Doll]] to reignite Clefable's memories of their past together, allowing her to return Clefable back to normal.

Ultra Deep Sea first appeared in ''[[PASM26|Adventure in the Dark Dimension]]''. {{adv|Sun}} and {{adv|Moon}} arrived there after getting separated from {{DL|Light trio (Adventures)|Lunala}} in their attempt to rescue {{p|Solgaleo}} after it was possessed by {{p|Necrozma}}. They spent six months there, only surviving because their bodies stopped needing food and getting sick while they remained in the area. Sometime later, they spotted Lunala arriving at the area, only to find that it was being [[Ultra Warp Ride|ridden]] by [[Dulse]] and [[Zossie]] of the [[Ultra Recon Squad]]. When Sun heard them talking about their work with the [[Aether Foundation]], he assumed them to be enemies and tried to attack them, but Moon managed to calm the situation down. Eventually, Dulse agreed to stay behind so that Sun and Moon could ride Lunala with Zossie and travel to [[Ultra Megalopolis]].
