Mt. Coronet (Japanese: テンガンざん Mt. Tengan) is the highest mountain in the Sinnoh region. It is part of a long range of mountains that divide the Sinnoh region in half. Most of it is a deep cave, though there are several above-ground areas, in which it snows constantly.
Mount Coronet (Japanese: テンガン山 Mount Tengan), formatted as Mt. Coronet prior to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, is the highest mountain in the Sinnoh region, part of a long mountain range that divides the region in half. Most of it is a deep cave, though there are several above-ground areas in which it snows constantly.

Caves and entrances are cut out of Mt. Coronet to allow travel between the two sides of the Sinnoh, but contains many other tunnels around the mountain. Mt. Coronet has entrances on 207 which leads to Oreburgh City, 208 which leads to Hearthome City, 211 which leads to Celestic Town, and 216 which leads to Snowpoint City. The caves inside the mountain have paths blocked by rocks and boulders. There are several pools of water throughout the cave. After the HMs containing Surf, Strength, Defog, Rock Smash, Rock Climb, and Waterfall are obtained, the mountain is fully navigable.
The cave that winds through the mountain is apparently man-made, as bridges run through it; though the higher one climbs, the more rugged it becomes. As a centerpiece of the region, the cave connects Oreburgh City, Eterna City, Hearthome City, Celestic Town, and Snowpoint City via Routes 207, 208, 211, 216, and 217. To fully navigate the mountain's caves, Surf, Strength, Defog, Rock Smash, Rock Climb, and Waterfall are required.

According to one theory, Mt. Coronet is where the Sinnoh region began. When Arceus created Dialga and Palkia, there was only time and space. The Sinnoh region was shaped around Mt. Coronet by Regigigas. During this violent procedure, Stark Mountain was created and Heatran was formed in lava. Arceus created the Adamant, Lustrous, and Griseous Orbs before falling into a never-ending sleep atop the highest point on Mt. Coronet. This is where Spear Pillar is located, which is the meeting place of Dialga and Palkia, as well as the portal to the Distortion World.
According to legend, Mount Coronet is where the Sinnoh region began. Arceus created Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina at the Spear Pillar, as well as the Adamant, Lustrous, and Griseous Orbs, then fell into an unending sleep on the highest point of the mountain.

Geography
Mount Coronet has a special magnetic field that causes Magneton and Nosepass to evolve into Magnezone and Probopass, respectively, when leveled up here. This can still occur at the Spear Pillar and Hall of Origin.

Mt. Coronet stands in the middles of the Sinnoh region, starting from the northern, snowy routes making its way down down to the very southern route, splitting the Sinnoh into two halves. It makes up a huge mountain range, with many peaks, but the true mountain lies right in the center of the region. It is the highest mountain in the Sinnoh region, and perhaps the highest in the Pokémon world. It is said in many legends that the Sinnoh was shaped around Mt. Coronet moved by Regigigas, when he was created. It is said that Arceus, the creator of the Pokémon world, rests at the highest point of the mountain until woken again one day. During Mt. Coronet's creation, Stark Mountain is created during this violent procedure, and Heatran is formed in lava. Mt. Coronet is also the centerpiece in many of the Sinnoh's tales and regions. The stained glass window in Foreign Building has a picture of the mountain with a dazzle of light coming from the summit, while many believe that Mt. Coronet has split Sinnoh forever, with the different colored Shellos proving it.

Coming from the north, on the eastern side of 216, Mt. Coronet has an entrance on the side of the mountain, which enters into a long cavern that is shaped like an upside down "L". The Iceberg Ruins can be found in this cavern, recognized by the two small rocks near the entrance of the ruin. By going further south, the cave leads into another chamber, deep within the cave. This floor is covered with deep fog, which makes obstacles hard to see. There is a lake deep within this cavern, that carved out the inside of the mountain. The rare and exclusive Feebas lives in this large lake, but does not appear regularly. Feebas is an elusive find within the depths of the mountain. Instead of fishing in any location as customary with most Pokémon, Feebas is located in only four water blocks in the lake. There is no easy method to determine which block contains Feebas, as the only way is to drop a line into each and every water block on the route. Once hooked, however, Feebas is simple to catch. Traveling further south, is a stairway up to the ground floor. By traveling east then south, the cave entrance from 211 can be seen, which will lead out to eastern side of the mountain. The western side of Route 211 can also be accessed, but requires Strength to get across.
In the Hisui region, the area of the mountain is known as the Coronet Highlands.

Geography
The southern side of the Mt. Coronet can be entered through the 207 and 208 entrances. This section of the cave is small, with several small pools of water. Some can be traveled across to collect items, or to get across to the other side of the cave. The northern pool of water can be surfed across to make their way to the stairway up the mountain. The only way to get up to the higher section of ground where the stairs are, is to use Rock Climb.

Mount Coronet stands in the middle of Sinnoh, extending from the northern wilderness to the southern tip of the region, splitting it into two halves. It is truly best defined as a mountain range, with the highest peak shrouded in legend. It is perhaps the highest mountain in the entire Pokémon world. Situated atop the peak is the Spear Pillar, an ancient shrine to Pokémon formerly known as the Temple of Sinnoh, which is now only in ruins, with several of its pillars still standing, all pointing skyward. The legend of the Pokémon of Myth is deeply connected to the mountain, as is the plot of Team Galactic. A stained glass window in the Hearthome City in Hearthome City depicts the mountain with a bright shine, representing the Spear Pillar and possibly depicting the creation of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. Its place in Sinnoh has caused variation in the species of Shellos and Gastrodon, which have different coloration depending on the side of Sinnoh they are native to.

Mount Coronet's southern 1F 1 leads between 207 and 208 and features several elevated rock formations as well as several pools of water. It is here where the player will first meet Cyrus in Diamond and Pearl, and meet him for the third time in Platinum. It is a simple cavern that requires no HMs to pass through. However, to visit the Spear Pillar, the player must use Surf and Rock Climb here and navigate the increasingly complex 2F and 3F. A cave painting of the lake guardians, similar to the one in Celestic Town, blocks the way to 3F until Team Galactic is defeated in Team Galactic HQ, which is in Veilstone City. Eventually the player will make his or her way outside of the snowy mountain. This outer area features constant hail, much like Routes 216 and 217, as well as many hardy Pokémon adapted to living in this harsh environment. The way to Spear Pillar goes through 4F 1, back outside, into 4F 3, and finally up 5F and 6F.
By going up the stairway, the cave leads to a larger floor. The chamber weaves around in a maze-like structure, where many items can be obtained along the way. By traveling north, then west, then down a narrow gap between two walls, the cave weaves around, up many stairs, and across several bridges. There is a secret exit to the cave, which will end out at the side of the mountain, above the entrance to the western side of 211 to the cave. By traveling deeper into this section, the entrance to the next section can be found. In Platinum, there is a large barrier in front of the door to the upper floors, until Team Galactic brake it down. The barrier has artwork of Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie similar to the etching on the wall of the Celestic Ruins. The cave then leads to more small connector caves, which leads to dead ends. One entrance will lead out to the side of the mountain.

The northern 1F 1 is vastly different from the southern cavern, with no pools of water on the ground floor, and requiring Rock Smash and Strength to navigate between the two halves of 211 and toward 216. In Platinum, until the player defeats Mars at Lake Verity, two Team Galactic Grunt block the way north. After the Grunts leave, this cavern leads further to B1F, an area blanketed in a dense fog where a large underground lake is located. This lake is the only place that Feebas is available in Sinnoh, though like in Hoenn, it is found only in specific tiles on any given day (see ). At the north end of this area is a way back up to Mount Coronet's northernmost cave, upper 1F 2, leading out toward Route 216, and in Platinum, where the Iceberg Ruins is located.
Coming out of the interior of the mountain, the cave comes to an end, exiting to the side of the mountain. The side of the mountain is covered in snow, which can be crossed by traveling along the narrow ledges at the side of the mountain. By traveling through the tall grass, the mountain side can be scaled up to other ledge. At this point there are three pathes; one path traveling east and into another section of the cave, one traveling further up the rocky cliff, and another traveling west, past grassy areas and movable rocks, into another section of the cave. By traveling further up the rocky cliff, a patch of grass and a hidden item under a rock can be found. By entering the cave at the eastern side of the mountain face, another section can be explored. A small river of water, with a raging waterfall can be accessed by traveling east in this section of cave. By traveling up the waterfall, a secret cave section can be located., which contains a Plate in Diamond and Pearl, or a Type-enhancing item and a Type-enhancing item in Platinum. In order to press though the maze of Mt. Coronet, the western side of the cave section must be explored. By traveling further on, the path will make its way to the eastern side of the mountain face which also snows constantly. By traveling around this area, there are another two enterances to the caves, one in an indented part of the mountain side, and another further on, past patches of tall grass and movable rocks. The second cave will lead up the mountain, and eventually lead to the summit and Spear Pillar, whereas the the first cave will lead down the mountain, and eventually connect to the first floor and the entreance on 211 near Celestic Town.

Mt. Coronet appears in Diamond. Although the player must pass through the mountain several times on their journey through Sinnoh, the most important events within it relate to Team Galactic. Early in the game, Cyrus is encountered in Mt. Coronet's caves when the player travels through to eastern Sinnoh. Later on, Cyrus's plans bring Team Galactic to the mountain once again. Many Galactic Grunts invade the mountain, patrolling inside the inside so no one gets past. In Platinum, there is a large barrier in front of the door to the upper floors, so that adventurers don't stumble across Spear Pillar and get lost. Team Galactic brake down the barrier before trying to get to Spear Pillar, letting others go to higher floors.

Spear Pillar
The Spear Pillar, once known as the Temple of Sinnoh, is located on the highest peak of Mount Coronet, the highest point in Sinnoh. It's home to the ruins of the ancient Temple of Sinnoh, stated by legend to be the place where Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina were created by Arceus. It is here that Cyrus summons both Dialga and Palkia with the Red Chain, though when their proximity to each other causes an imbalance in the structure of reality, Giratina arrives to whisk Cyrus away to prevent further damage.

Spear Pillar is located on the peak of Mt. Coronet, the highest point in the Sinnoh region. Spear Pillar contains the ancient ruins of home of Arceus, and the summoning of Dialga or Palkia. At the Spear Pillar in Diamond and Pearl, Cyrus summons Dialga or Palkia, whose power is too much for him. The legendary Pokémon is left for the hero to defeat or capture. In Platinum, Cyrus summons both Dialga and Palkia and accidentally Giratina, who makes a portal to the Distortion World dragging Cyrus in. The player and Cynthia then follow. Dialga and Palkia will be available after defeating the Elite Four and obtaining the Type-enhancing item for Dialga and Type-enhancing item for Palkia.
If an Azure Flute is obtained from a special Nintendo event/there is save data for all 27 completed Pokémon Legends: Arceus missions, a staircase can be opened on the Spear Pillar to the Hall of Origin where Arceus waits. The battle begins as soon as the player steps onto the platform at the end of the staircase.

Iceberg Ruins
Iceberg Ruins
Iceberg Ruins
Iceberg Ruins (Sinnoh)
In Platinum, the Iceberg Ruins appear near Mount Coronet's exit onto Route 216. If the event Regigigas is not with the player, a NeverMeltIce will be found in its cavern instead.

In Platinum, the Iceberg Ruins appear deep within the mountain, on the way to 216. At first, a Type-enhancing item can be found in the ruins. If a special event Regigigas is in the party, the Ruins will house a Regice. A statue of Regice is present. By confronting the statue, stepping on the 7-dot pattern on the floor and walking up to the statue, Regice will attack.
Finding Feebas
Feebas are elusive in Mount Coronet, similar to 119 in Hoenn. Instead of being found in any fishing location as would be customary with most Pokémon, Feebas are located in only four random water tiles in B1F (the foggy floor with the lake leading to 216). Of the total 528 fishable tiles, one Feebas tile is located within each 132 tiles (counted left-to-right then top-to-bottom). Adding to the difficulty, other Pokémon besides Feebas will still appear in the Feebas tiles as well. In Generation IV, there is no known easy method to determine which tiles contain Feebas: the only way is to fish repeatedly in each and every water tile in B1F, doing so enough times to be reasonably confident that no Feebas are in that tile (or else risk missing a Feebas tile). If the player reels in one Pokémon in every tile, there is a 1 in 16 (approximately 6%) chance they will pass over all four Feebas tiles without reeling in a single Feebas. By record mixing, all players' four tiles will change to the same four tiles as player one. Any Rod can find Feebas. Once hooked, Feebas is fairly easy to catch, with a catch rate of 255, and they can be fished from the same tile many times. The locations of the four tiles change every day. In Generation VIII, the RNG can be exploited by an external tool to locate Feebas tiles based on the daily Loto Ticket number.

In Steeling Peace of Mind! and Saving the World From Ruins!, Team Galactic fired a beam from Iron Island at the mountain in an attempt to locate the Spear Pillar. Ash battled Mars, defeating her and destroying the machine that created the beam, leaving Team Galactic's scan of the mountain only 60% complete.

Mount Coronet appeared again in Unlocking the Red Chain of Events! and The Battle Finale of Legend!. Saturn discovered the entryway to the Spear Pillar and was soon joined by Cyrus, Mars, Jupiter, and Charon for the trip inside.

Ash and Goh traveled to Mount Coronet in Leaping Toward the Dream!. There, Goh was assigned with his qualification mission for Project Mew, which was to caught an Alolan Ninetales that had wound up there after being forcibly taken from its home by Pokémon poachers and lost by them as their plane crashed. Along the way, they encountered Quillon, a member of Project Mew, and a Regice. Eventually, however, Goh was able to catch Ninetales and complete his mission, qualifying him as a Project Mew challenger. The Regice encountered here was later caught by Quillon sometime before Chasing to the Finish!.

Mount Coronet played a notable role during Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles, where Team Galactic's plans to bring back Cyrus resulted in a Heatran going on a rampage at the mountain and threatening the entire Sinnoh region. She was intended to be accompanied by bodyguards Paka and Uji, but due to a misunderstanding, Diamond and Pearl ended up accompanying her instead. They first arrived at Mount Coronet in Passing by Probopass and Maneuvering around Magnezone, although the path they took couldn't take them to the summit, where they were headed. Cyrus, who was also inside the cave the three Pokédex holders were passing through, considered them disturbing the mountain and sent his Nosepass and Magneton to attack them, with the two Pokémon evolving into Probopass and Magnezone, respectively, thanks to the mountain's influence, before using Rock Slide on the three Trainers. The trio survived, however, and later exited Mount Coronet on 208.

The climax of the arc, starting from Creeping Away from Cradily, took place at the Spear Pillar on the summit of Mount Coronet. Once Cyrus's plans had been stopped in Double Trouble with Dialga and Palkia VI, Platinum was able to complete her quest by assembling her family emblem.

In The Advent of the Legendary Pokémon!!, Hareta and Jun headed to Mount Coronet to stop Team Galactic's plans. When Jun's Dragonite was brought down by the shockwaves of Cyrus opening a portal in space-time to summon Dialga, Jun stayed behind to battle Jupiter, while Hareta headed off to the Spear Pillar, defeating Mars along the way to get there.

This listing is of cards mentioning and/or featuring Mount Coronet in the Trading Card Game.
Despite, in the games, having to travel through Mt. Coronet to arrive at Hearthome City, Ash and his friends have not been shown journeying through the mountain as of yet. However, in Nosing 'Round The Mountain!, they found Alan and Ash battled him at the Mt. Coronet area, because Alan wanted his Nosepass to evolve. Ash and his friends meet a boy called Alan who has a Nosepass. Ash asks for a battle with him and he agrees. The two go and have a real battle, but the battle is then called off by Alan because he wants to battle near Mt. Coronet so his Nosepass can evolve. The mountain has however been seen in the background of some episodes set in areas near the mountain.

In DP110 and DP111, Team Galactic created a giant beam with the Spear Key from Iron Island, in an attempt to locate the Spear Pillar, above Mt. Coronet. Ash battles with Mars and destroys the machine allowing Team Galactic to scan only 60% of Mt. Coronet in their search for the Spear Pillar.

Trivia
Trivia
*Mt. Coronet is the only location in Sinnoh where the elusive Pokémon Feebas can be caught. It only appears in four fishing spots in the basement, which change every day.
* Whenever the player views a map within Mount Coronet, whether it's the Town Map or the Berry and marking maps on the Pokétch, it will only show what route the player entered Mount Coronet from.
*Mt. Coronet emits a special magnetic field. As a result, Magneton and Nosepass can only be evolved into Magnezone and Probopass, respectively, by leveling them up here.
* The only HM move that cannot be used outside of battle in Mount Coronet is Cut.
**The two Pokémon obtainable by evolving in Mt. Coronet have three magnetic units, according to the Pokédex - Probopass has three mini-noses, and Magnezone is made up of three units. They also share both of their abilities.
* Mount Coronet is mentioned in the description of Mystery Dungeon evolutionary items, an item exclusive to the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon world.
* Schalstein is present here, as revealed in Mossdeep City in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Name origin
Mount Coronet is named after a coronet, a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed on a metal ring, as the mountain itself is the "crown" of Sinnoh.

Name Origin
Mt. Tengan is derived from 天冠 tengan (celestial crown). In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the name of the mountain is written fully in kanji as 天冠山 as it appears in a signpost on 206.
Mt. Coronet is named after a Coronet, a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed on a metal ring, meaning that Mt. Coronet could be the crown of the Sinnoh. Coronet Peak is also a snowy mountain range in New Zealand.
