Solrock (Japanese: ソルロック Solrock) is a dual-type Pokémon. It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, but it is considered to be a counterpart of Lunatone.

Physiology
Solrock is a primarily orange, spherical Pokémon. It has eight yellow, rocky spines extending from the sides of its body; and multiple small, yellow stony bumps running vertically along its center. On its back are dual rocky mounds, situated to the sides of the mid-line. Its large eyes consist of thick, semicircular yellow eyelids through which black sclerae and red pupils can be seen. A black ring with six extensions surrounds each eye.
Solrock is a Pokémon that originally came from space. They originally came to earth within meteorites and have since adapted to life on earth quite nicely. Being an inorganic Pokémon, it isn't preyed upon, nor does it need to prey on others, as it derives all its energy from sunlight. It uses telekinesis to float in mid-air and is capable of reading the thoughts of other lifeforms like most psychic types. It is even capable of brainwashing, but only does this when it feels threatened and is usually a last resort. It is also capable of generating its own heat to create fire.

Solrock relies on solar energy, which it absorbs in groups during daylight. While it is always expressionless, it is able to sense the emotions and thoughts of others. It spins its body to produce intense heat and a blinding light. It is able to stay silent while floating in the air and can be found in List of Pokémon by habitat. It is believed Solrock originated from space, specifically the sun.

Special abilities
In events
As it thrives upon solar energy, it emits bright light during battle, as well as heat waves whenever it rotates. This solar power it contains allows it to learn moves like Fire Spin naturally, as well as being able to learn other Fire moves by TM, such as Flamethrower and Overheat. Its psychic powers allow it to read the minds of others.

Behavior
Held items
Solrock is an emotionless Pokémon, and instead seems to be affected more by solar energy. It simply floats to transport itself and will attack if necessary.

Trivia
Trivia
*Solrock shares the same species name with its counterpart Lunatone. They are both known as Meteorite Pokémon.
* Solrock shares its category with its counterpart Lunatone. They are both known as the Meteorite Pokémon.
*Although its appearance and Pokédex entries suggest it, Solrock cannot learn Morning Sun.
* Solrock and Lunatone have nearly identical base stats, with only the physical and special stats switched.
*Without its ability, this Pokémon and its counterpart Lunatone are the only Pokémon that have seven weaknesses and are not partially Grass or doubly weak/resistant to anything. Other Pokémon that have seven weaknesses include Celebi, Exeggcute, Exeggutor, Snover and Abomasnow.
*Lunatone and Solrock have some similarities to Unown and the Baltoy and Bronzor lines in that they are Psychic, have Levitate, and like caves and ruins.

Origin
Origin
Solrock is based on a sun-shaped meteorite.
Solrock seems to be based on the Sun, as well as a meteorite. Its squinted eyes may allude to the difficulty of looking directly at the Sun. Solrock's shiny coloration might be a reference to red dwarf stars.

Name origin
Name origin
Solrock's name is a combination of the Latin word sol, sun, and the English word rock.
Solrock may be a combination of sol (Latin for sun) and rock.
Its German name, Sonnfel, comes from Sonne and Fels.
Its French name, Solaroc, comes from soleil and roc.
