Release information
Release information
*In Japan, this card was reprinted with artwork from one of five winning entries of the Nintendo 64 Pokémon Snap contest held in Spring 1999. This version is extremely rare and the exact number in existence is unknown.
This card was included in the Fossil expansion as both a Holofoil and Non Holofoil card, first released in the Japanese Mystery of the Fossils expansion as only a Holofoil card. In Japan, this card was reprinted with artwork by Yui Tanaka, one of five winning entries of the Illustration contests held in Spring 1999. This version is extremely rare and the exact number in existence is unknown. It was later reprinted with new artwork by Ken Sugimori, available as a prize at the 1999 Tropical Mega Battle tournament. Those who were not in the main event could still battle each other, earning stamps for every battle they participated in. Those who completed their stamp booklet were awarded either an Articuno, Fossil or Fossil phone card at random in a sealed envelope. The Fossil print was later reprinted in the Legendary Collection expansion.
*In Japan, this card was reprinted with different artwork by Ken Sugimori. At the 1999 Tropical Mega Battle tournament, those who were not in the main event could still battle each other, earning stamps for every battle they participated in. Those who completed their stamp booklet were awarded either an Articuno, Fossil or Fossil at random in a sealed envelope.

*The holographic version of this card was reprinted in the Legendary Collection reprint set, which was only released outside of Japan.
In the Scarlet & Violet Series, this card was reprinted in Holofoil with its original Fossil artwork for the Blastoise & Suicune ex deck of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic. This reprint lacks a regulation mark and is thus not legal for tournament play.

*The Japanese "Snap" print has a camera graphic where an expansion symbol would usually be.
*The Japanese "Snap" print has a camera graphic where an expansion symbol would usually be.
*Unlike the majority of the cards released through the Spring 1999 Pokémon Snap contests, the "Snap" print does feature the additional text on the bottom right.
*The phone card promo is slightly longer than a normal trading card, as the print had to adopt the same dimensions as a regular Japanese phone card. That print utilizes the same stock Sugimori artwork of Articuno that was later used on the Promotional Card Legendary Card from Pokémon Trading Card Game.
