Unlike the Nurse Joys of [[Kanto]], [[Johto]], [[Hoenn]], [[Sinnoh]], and [[Kalos]], the Joys of Unova do not use {{p|Chansey}} or {{p|Wigglytuff}} as their helpers, since they are not found in Unova. Instead, they use Audino. The first Nurse Joy seen with an Audino appeared in ''[[BW006|Dreams by the Yard Full!]]''. They serve the same function as Chansey, helping Nurse Joy take care of Pokémon, including carrying them around on stretchers and helping to heal them. They wear hats that have the same color as the Nurse Joy they work for.

In ''[[XY096|A Giga Battle with Mega Results!]]'', a Kalos Nurse Joy who used an Audino instead of a {{TP|Nurse Joy|Wigglytuff}} was introduced. Despite the two constantly arguing with one another, they were still close enough to allow Audino to [[Mega Evolution|Mega Evolve]] with the {{DL|Mega Stone|Audinite}} that Joy had recently discovered. Using its new power, Audino helped to defeat {{TRT}}, who were trying to steal all the [[Poké Ball]]s from the Pokémon Center.
