Levitate (Ability): Difference between revisions

Levitate renders the Pokémon with this Ability immune to damaging {{type|Ground}} moves (except {{m|Thousand Arrows}}). It also is unaffected by the effects of {{a|Arena Trap}}, {{m|Spikes}}, {{m|Toxic Spikes}}, {{m|Sticky Web}}, {{m|Rototiller}}, and [[terrain]]. Additionally, {{type|Poison}} Pokémon with Levitate do not remove Toxic Spikes upon switching in.

These immunities are lost during {{m|Gravity}} or if the Pokémon with Levitate is holding an [[Iron Ball]], is under the effects of {{m|Ingrain}}, or has been hit by {{m|Smack Down}} or {{m|Thousand Arrows}}.

Pokémon with this Ability are eligible to enter [[Sky Battle]]s, except {{p|Gengar}} because its model lands on the ground when entering the battle.

 

If an opponent uses a Ground-type move that targets a Pokémon with Levitate, the message "'''It doesn't affect <Pokémon>...'''" will be displayed.

* {{form|Rotom|Fan}} {{p|Rotom}} is the only Pokémon with this Ability to be naturally immune to {{type|Ground}} moves due to being {{type|Flying}} in Generation V and onward.

* This is the most common Ability in [[Generation VII]], with 40 different cases of it, including [[Mega Evolution]] and Pokémon with alternate forms.

* Levitate is the only Ability that provides immunity to an attack type to not restore HP or alter the stats or damage output of the Pokémon when hit by the attack.
