'''Skyler''' (Japanese: '''トビオ''' ''Tobio'') is a [[character of the day]] who appeared in ''[[EP202|The Big Balloon Blow-Up]]''. His dream is to become a professional hot-air balloon pilot.

He convinced {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}}, whom he just met, to participate in a [[Pokémon Balloon Race]]. His father [[Tenma]] lent Ash and his friends a {{p|Pikachu}}-shaped balloon. During the course of the race, {{TRT}} sabotaged many of the competition's balloons and then cheated by using a rocket launcher on Ash's {{AP|Noctowl}} and {{AP|Pikachu}}. Skyler used his Fearow's {{m|Drill Peck}} to destroy Team's Rocket rocket launcher and save Ash's Pokémon.

He tied for first place with Ash; they both won the first place prize, a hot-air balloon engine. However, Ash fully passed the prize onto Skyler to help him fulfill his dreams.

* Skyler's Japanese name and [[Tenma|his father]]'s name both reference main characters in the classic manga and anime ''{{wp|Astro Boy}}'' by {{wp|Osamu Tezuka}}. Skyler even shares his namesake's hairstyle.
