The Red Shard (Japanese: あかいかけら Red Shard) is a type of item introduced in Generation III. It is one of the Shards.

In the Generation V games, the Red Shard can be sold to the ore maniac inside the Icirrus City Pokémon Center for $200.

Effect

In Hoenn, a Red Shard can be exchanged with the Treasure Hunter on Route 124 for a Fire Stone.

In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, ten Red Shards can be exchanged with the shard collector on Route 212 for TM11 (Sunny Day).

In Pokémon Platinum, 2, 4, 6, or 8 Red Shards can be exchanged with Move Tutors to teach Pokémon moves.
