The group soon come face-to-face with a {{pkmn2|wild}} {{p|Ursaring}}, and decide to flee the area. Caterpie, however, was too eating a berry to notice, so Ash leaps in to save it from Ursaring’s attacks. The group hides amongst the bushes, but they are soon spotted after Caterpie suddenly sneezes and shoots some string on Ursaring's back. They run again. But to stop Ursaring, Caterpie emits a strong smell from its antennae, but this only angers Ursaring more. Ursaring chases them to a dead end cliff.
