The Colorless type (Japanese: 無色 Colorless) is one of the eleven TCG types. It is represented by the color white, and symbolized by a six-pointed star.
The Colorless type contains most Normal- and Flying-type Pokémon found in the main series video games. For example, Rattata and Tornadus are Colorless types in the TCG. However, many Flying-type Pokémon have not had Colorless cards. Instead they tend to be printed as their other type but with the weakness and resistance associated with a Flying-type Pokémon.
Prior to the Dragons Exalted set, the Colorless type also contained all Dragon-type Pokémon found in the main series video games. For example, Rayquaza and Dragonite were always Colorless types in the TCG. However, Dragon-type Pokémon are now Dragon, though they could still be Colorless if they are part Normal or Flying in the video games like the examples mentioned earlier.
The Colorless type can be seen as the "neutral" type of the game, as attacks with an Energy card cost listed with Colorless Energy may use any of the other types of Energy to count for that Colorless. Due to this, unlike the other types, there is no Basic Energy card associated with Colorless; all cards providing only Colorless Energy are Special Energy cards.
Battle properties
Generally, Colorless Pokémon have a weakness to:
- Lightning (if the Pokémon is a Flying-type in the video games)
- Fighting (if the Pokémon is a Normal-type in the video games)
- Colorless (if the Pokémon is a Dragon-type* in the video games)
Generally, Colorless Pokémon have a resistance to:
- Psychic (if the Pokémon is a Normal-type* or a Dragon-type* in the video games)
- Fighting (if the Pokémon is a Flying-type or a Dragon-type* in the video games
- Fire (if the Pokémon is a Dragon-type* in the video games)
- Grass (if the Pokémon is a Dragon-type* in the video games)
- Water (if the Pokémon is a Dragon-type* in the video games)
These types are generally weak to Colorless Pokémon:
- Colorless (if the Pokémon is a Dragon-type* in the video games)
These types are generally resistant to Colorless Pokémon:
- Psychic (if the Pokémon is a Ghost-type* in the video games)
