:Agreed. Human COTDs get articles, but the policy is that Pokemon COTDs don't, and by all measures, this appears to be a Pokemon COTD with a couple of cameos in later episodes. It's not even significant enough to have appeared in the manga, TCG, or Platinum. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:07, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

::Why can't this page just be auto-deleted? Georgia's Bisharp had more appearances and personality than this Pokémon yet it's not allowed an article. --<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 14:32, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

::::I didn't. I was using Georgia's Bisharp as an example. Would you have liked me to have used Paul's Weavile instead? --<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 15:35, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Merge
I probably broke a rule but whatever. I'm in favour of this article being merged (or whatever) with Aaron's article because really, this Pokémon really isn't that important and this article's existance is the epitome of a Georgia's Bisharp scenario. --<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 16:48, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
:As you can see from the history when Maverick Nate removed the discussdelete template, the admins decided very recently that it's worth keeping. Here's the forum link; I linked to the first relevant post, and there are more below it. ::By that logic, Paul's Weavile should have an article. It's more notable than Aaron's Beautifly will ever be.--<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 17:34, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

::So I'm allowed to make the Paul's Weavile article, and the Georgia's Bisharp article, and articles for every other Pokémon belongong to a CoTD? --<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 17:40, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
:::No. You know very well the admins have said no to those just like they said yes to this. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:48, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
::But there is literally no difference in notability between Aaron's Beautifly and any Pokémon I listed above.--<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 17:50, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
:::That's not your judgment call to make. (Also, Aaron's Beautifly appeared in both the anime and games, which makes it automatically more notable than any anime-only Pokemon like the two you listed. Only slightly more, but more nonetheless.) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:30, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
::So, this means every Pokémon that's made an appearance in both the anime and games notable? Makes sense. btw arguing is geting us nowhere. --<b><span style="color:#EBEBEB;">The</span> <span style="color:#F08030;">Truth</span></b> aka Relicant 18:54, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
:::If it's not obvious by now, anime Pokémon notability is judged on a case by case basis. This isn't one of those things where "such and such should get an article because such and such did." They should be looked at and discussed on an individual basis, not because another Pokémon got an article. == Reopening the discussion ==
I know this was previously discussed, but I think the admins should look back into merging this page, given that it has been about 6 years. It appeared in 1 episode, then made a cameo in another. It's made less appearances than A LOT of Pokémon owned by other important trainers. It was only in Diamond and Pearl, but got replaced in Platinum. It was never even shown in the manga, something at least Bruno's Onix got. Keeping this page just opens the floodgates for other pages. Why doesn't Olivia's Lycanroc have a page, given it's made more appearances in the games and anime? What about Gladion's Umbreon, given that it's backstory was also shown like Aaron's Beautifly. :Fourth or seventh point, take your pick. It's his signature, and had an impact on the plot (rather, it was the plot). Or, Beautifly is essentially a Pokémon of the day.--<span style="color:#EBC600">F</span><span style="color:#EBC600">orce</span><span style="color:#D8B600">F</span><span style="color:#D8B600">ire</span> 06:41, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
::For the 4th point, is it Aaron's signature Pokémon? It was only in the Diamond and Pearl games, and not even his strongest and only joined Aaron's team halfway through the episode. For the 7th point, what other Pokémon of the day have their own pages, aside from movie Pokémon and reoccurring Pokémon? Because, like it said, it opens the door for a lot of Pokémon getting their page. What about the Ralts from AG109, which was also the subject of an episode. Or the Golduck from EP091, which definitely contributed to Misty's and her Psyduck's character. Iml908 (talk) 23:38, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
