Eric Medalle and his wife

Eric Medalle (June 15, 1973 — March 13, 2016[1]) was the Creative Design Director at The Pokémon Company International and an illustrator for the TFG of Pokémon. He joined TPCi in 2003 as a Senior Graphic Designer. He designed or co-designed almost every international TCG logo since Nintendo took control of card production until his death. Medalle was also responsible for designing the logos for the seasons and movies of the Best Wishes and XY series of the anime.

A dedication to him appears in the credits of the 19th movie, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, the two Twins on Route 5 are named Isa and Nico, a possible reference to the names of his two daughters.
