(You know, maybe we should include the damage boost for each Mega effect. I'll see what I can figure out. Should this be a separate column?)

Mega Evolution is a key feature in Pokémon Shuffle.
Mega Effects are special skills in Pokémon Shuffle. These skills are activated upon matching a Mega Evolved Pokémon. A Pokémon can Mega Evolve if the player has the appropriate Mega Stone and matches the Pokémon enough times, represented by the Mega Gauge. Only the player's first Support Pokémon can Mega Evolve, meaning it is only possible to have one Mega Effect at a time.

47 of the 48 Mega Evolutions from the core series are available<!--only excluding Mega Pinsir-->, each with its own Mega Effect. Additionally, 6 Pokémon with alternate forms can Mega Evolve with a different Mega Effect from the standard form, for a total of 53 distinct Mega Evolutions.
Each Mega Effect can either erase or replace Pokémon icons and Pokémon Shuffle in the puzzle area. The kinds of tiles targeted differ depending on the effect. If the Mega Effect erases icons, each non-empty tile that is erased boosts the amount of damage dealt to the opponent. If a Mega match and at least one non-Mega match are made simultaneously and have equal priority, the Mega match will activate last.

Mechanics
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Charizard X will change type from Psychic to Fighting or Fire to Dragon, respectively, upon Mega Evolving. If the player has obtained one of those Pokémon and both of their respective Mega Stones, they will have separate entries in the Pokémon list for each Mega Stone. Only one of each may be used as a support Pokémon; EXP and Skill levels are shared between them, but Mega Speedups are not.
In order to Mega Evolve a Pokémon, the player must obtain its respective Mega Stone (or in Rayquaza's case, the Meteorite), typically by defeating its Mega Evolved form in a Trainer battle in the Pokémon Shuffle, as a prize for completing a Competitive Stage, by reaching a certain point in an Escalation Battle, or as a reward for making progress toward a Mission Card.

For a Pokémon to Mega Evolve during battle, the Pokémon must be placed in the first position (furthest to the left) when selecting Pokémon Shuffle and the Mega Gauge must be filled. This is accomplished by matching the Pokémon being Mega Evolved or matching Pokémon of the same type with the Mega Boost, Mega Boost+, or Mega Boost++ Skills. Pokémon icons that are trapped under a barrier will not add to the Mega Gauge. After the Mega Gauge fills, each of the Pokémon's icons change to reflect the Mega-Evolved form of that Pokémon. Effects for each Mega form vary between Pokémon and are listed below in the Mega Effects table. These Mega Effects replace the Pokémon's Skill for the remainder of the battle.
List of Mega Effects
The table below details for each Mega Pokémon: its Mega Effect, the default size of its Mega Gauge (the number of icons that must be matched for the gauge to be filled), and the maximum number of Mega Speedups that can be used on it (reducing the size of the Mega Gauge).

Mega Speedups can be used on these Pokémon from the Pokémon selection menu to lower the gauge by one icon each, up to a certain maximum. For instance, Swampert normally requires 12 icons before it can Mega Evolve, but when a maximum of 6 Mega Speedups are used, only 6 icons are required for Mega Evolution.
In the event of a damage boost, it will be affected by type effectiveness and skills affecting combos, such as Ice Dance.

Acquisition
Mega Stones can be acquired via several methods. Some Pokémon can be battled in their Mega form in stages at the end of various areas of the game, starting with Mega Audino as the first such encounter for any player at Stage 10. Additional Mega Pokémon can be battled for a limited time in a Competitive Stage, usually available for no more than a week, where higher prize tiers are awarded the Mega Stone as a prize. Three Mega Stones have been available through Escalation Battles. Finally, as of May 9, 2017, six Mega Stones available via Competitive Stages are currently available via Mission Cards and have been released over time.

For more information on the limited-time availability of certain Mega Stones, please see Competitive Stage and Escalation Battle. For information on when Mega Stones became available via Mission Cards, see Mission Card. A full list of all release information is also available in the version history section of the main Pokémon Shuffle article.

The table of availability for all Mega Stones is as follows. Shaded rows represent Mega Stones currently available in the game.

Reason: Damage boost per tile

Mega Effects are special skills in Pokémon Shuffle. These skills are activated upon matching a Mega Evolved Pokémon. A Pokémon can Mega Evolve if the player has the appropriate Mega Stone and matches the Pokémon enough times, represented by the Mega Gauge. Only the player's first Support Pokémon can Mega Evolve, meaning it is only possible to have one Mega Effect at a time.

Each Mega Effect can either erase or replace Pokémon icons and Disruptions in the puzzle area.

In the event of a damage boost, it will be affected by type effectiveness and skills affecting combos, such as Ice Dance.
