Several Pokémon Rangers appeared in the anime, debuting in the {{series|Advanced Generation}}. Generally, they are tasked with keeping an eye on an area and looking after the [[wild Pokémon]] there. Some of these areas are restricted and have to be protected from {{pkmn|poacher}}s.

A Ranger named {{OBP|Katrina|AG011}} appeared in ''[[AG011|A Bite to Remember]]''. In ''[[AG014|All in a Day's Wurmple]]'', twin brothers called [[Forrest Franklin]] and [[Forrester Franklin]] referred to themselves as Pokémon Rangers. A Pokémon Ranger by the name of [[Mr. Morita]] appeared in ''[[AG064|True Blue Swablu]]''. A female Ranger named [[Elisa]] was seen in ''[[AG106|Beg, Burrow and Steal]]''.

In the [[Kanto]] region, a member of the Wilderness Guard Core named [[Kerrigan]] appears in the episode ''[[AG185|Duels of the Jungle!]]''.

In the {{series|Diamond & Pearl}}, while refering to herself as a {{tc|Bird Keeper|Pokémornithologist}}, the [[character of the day]] [[Rosebay]] acts as a sort of Pokémon Ranger in ''[[DP013|A Staravia is Born!]]'' In ''[[DP134|Promoting Healthy Tangrowth!]]'', the character [[Verona]] is a female ranger who watches over the forest near [[Lake Acuity]]. In ''[[DP158|Regaining the Home Advantage!]]'', [[Crispin]] guards a mountain where powerful {{p|Metagross}} and {{p|Magnezone}} lived and regularly did battle.
