By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Copying from other websites.

Quoting User:Maverick Nate:

"It is against the rules here to copy translations from other websites, including PokéBeach (especially since PokéBeach isn't particularly good or consistent with translations). That sort of thing is called plagiarism, and is strictly forbidden. Please remember that pages created for Japanese cards must be made using your own translations. If you aren't able to read Japanese, it is best to leave the Japanese card pages for someone else."
I know because I did this too. You're just trying to help. No hard feelings. Just don't do it again. SirFinkleBottom 23:24, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Mystery Dungeon pages

Please stop adding It has little to do with the main story, as it is an optional dungeon to explore. to dungeon pages as it is uneccessary. --Abcboy (talk) 14:23, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

Use of "you"

Please try to avoid using "you" and other such second-person words when editing. Phrasing such as "Once Kecleon is recruited" is preferred to "Once you recruit Kecleon". Thank you.--Cold (talk) 17:56, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

Illustrator pages

Hey! I do enjoy how much work you've been putting into the illustrator pages. I'm just wondering if instead of updating the lists on the pages that are just lists (i.e. Kent Kanetsuna), you might be interested in researching them more and writing out some actual content for those illustrators? (i.e. Masakazu Fukuda). The reason the "Cards illustrated" lists are so outdated is because we don't want to have them on pages anymore, and they will be deleted once someone actually goes through and writes out prose for each illustrator. I just don't want you to invest your time and effort into something we don't want to have anymore, if it can be avoided. MaverickNate 17:34, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

As far as I know, the "Illus. by X" categories are completely up-to-date. In lieu of listing out all the cards a certain person has illustrated, how about just linking to that category on their page? Sure, it costs the user an extra click, but that's a small price to pay for saving hours and hours of work. Maybe just throw in For a list of cards illustrated by Kent Kanetsuna, see here. somewhere in the article? --Politoed666 19:00, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
That's the idea, and it is already being completed on any illustrators that have modern pages (take a look at Ryo Ueda, Atsuko Nishida, etc), but at the point where the only improvement being done on outdated pages is removing the list and adding that line, we're wasting time taking a step in the wrong direction. An article isn't worth the time if all it is saying is: "Saya Tsuruta is an illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. For a list of cards she illustrated, see here. /end of article.", and if that's it, we have an entirely different but equally bad problem. MaverickNate 19:08, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
