As for the other details, it would be great to have a list about differences between these games and G/S/C. In HG/SS, he obtains it after getting his first Pokemon". --Dr. James 16:25, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Pokemon traded from HGSS to DPPt
I don't know if this was known or not, but when Pokémon from Johto get traded to a Sinnoh game, it says that the Pokémon came from "Faraway place". :That's interesting. Maybe the "arrived from Johto" data is just so the game might not crash or something... or maybe they expected a game from Johto via Generation III, but it was too late when they made the Generation IV games. :::::The Faraway Place Met Location was programmed to show the text of any other Met Location that exists in the game based off a value normally unviewable to players. The Value is equivalent to the index number of the Met Location that you caught the Pokemon in. When that value does not equal a location in the game, it just shows Faraway Place. This was done for compatibility with previous games, and is the exact reason why various Pokemon from new locations show up as being from Faraway place when traded to previous games. This was introduced in Platinum, for compatibility with D/P. By the way, the Location indexes from Platinum still exist in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, but all of them had their text replaced with "Faraway Place", so that D/P/Pt Pokemon which weren't actually from Faraway Place would still show the text for it.
::::::They also added a Graphic swapping ability for Pokeballs in HG/SS. All Pokemon caught in the Apricorn Balls are actually caught in PokeBalls(Explaining the lack of unique in-battle graphics), with the game changing the Status Screen graphic based on another hidden value. So any Pokemon caught in the Apricorn Balls will be shown in the Pokeball in D/P/Pt. -- <span style="color:#804020;">Joe T.E.</span> 01:29, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

The whole Lati@s version-exclusive thing
In Ruby and Sapphire they aren't listed as version-exclusive, even though its the same thing as here. Personally I think they should be listed with an asterisk. I pretty much think that that Latios and Latias should still be listed as version exclusives but this new piece should be listed as trivia should the other means can from a Nintendo exclusive event which is something that can only happen once and therefore is outside the normal means. -Tyler53841 15:01, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
:They're not technically version exclusives in R/S, because of the Eon Ticket and Southern Island. They're still in the actual game coding as an in-world sprite that's interactable, and you can battle and catch them. Exclusives is like Groudon and Kyogre, or Palkia and Dialga, because you can only catch them in their respective versions. You have to trade to get them in the same version. And the exclusives also have a direct part in the storyline, such as Ruby having extreme sun with Groudon on the loose, and Sapphire having extreme thunderstorms with Kyogre on the loose, not to mention Team Magma and Aqua and in-game text spoken by NPCs. :Since these news articles at Nintendo NL and Dutch BE, respectively, announce the release date as April 2, then yes, it must be mentioned on the article. == On memes in the Trivia section ==
Seeing as Bulbapedia is being a big ol' bag of dicks at the moment and I can't edit anything without getting a 504, I'll just leave this here as a note in case I forget about it.
In the Trivia section, the 'A winner is you' quote links to the Wikipedia page for Yoda of Star Wars fame; it should link to the page for Pro Wrestling on the Nintendo Entertainment System, as this is where the meme originates from. Tehb0ll0x
:first off, we arent being "a big bag of dicks" about the 504s. we simply have too many users and not enough server. if you read the Message from the Editor on the main page, you would know this.
:second, idk who added it, but its pretty clear they guessed on that one.
:third, sign your comments. -- <span style="color:#000033;">MAG</span><span style="color:#696969;">NE</span><span style="color:#000033;">DETH</span> 21:21, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
::Ah, I wasn't referring to the Bulbapedia community, staff, et al, but to the site itself. In other words, I was doing the typically human thing and blaming the inanimate object for the problem. Apologies for the misunderstanding. And I'm ALWAYS forgetting to sign things. Apologies for that too. Tehb0ll0x 20:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Before anything starts about what i added in the trivia section, i saw the commercial myself.<small>- unsigned comment from Flyingtypefan (talk • contribs) </small>

It was? Well, i haven't used the Pokewalker before, so can you encounter a Lugia on the Pokewalker? Just to be sure, i'll see if i can find the commercial online. Flyingtypefan 06:45, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Anyone mind a few more redirects?
Does anyone mind if I make a few more directs to this article? Specifically redirecting 'SilverSoul' to this article, because people commonly mix up SoulSilver as SilverSoul, it's a common mistake and I've been known to do it a large number of times (not on this wiki of course...). So anyway, would anyone mind if I made those redirects? Mudkipchan 02:53, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

How far should the notes go
One thing that has been on my mind for a while is how far should the notes and trivia go to avoid making this too long for the page. Minor tidbits that are not related to a general change could be removed or moved, and one thing I did was merge to similar notes together. This is the perspective I have been looking at for HeartGold and SoulSilver. -Tyler53841 15:27, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Should it be mentioned that the game comes within two cases? One holding the Pokéwalker and the actual game case, and then the actual game case itself? --<font color="blue">Hoenn</font><font color="green">Master</font> 18:34, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Australian Release
On the article it says that Australia has had HeartGold and SoulSilver since the 25th of March 2010, right? I was walking past an Australian store with the games on an earlier date, around the 18th to the 23rd. Should it be changed? Strongriver 05:52, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
:Does that store import games? I know that there are quite a few stores in English speaking countries which will import the games from the States to get them earlier than local release (although in this case only by a few days. Platinum however it was a couple of months.) <span class="sc"><span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span></span> <small><span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span></small> 05:59, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
::The official release date of the games in Australia was indeed March 25. I think we should just leave it as that. Preorders sometimes arrive before the release dates, too. == MISSING PLOT? ==
Why is the Plot section of this article missing? The last time I checked this article, it was here. ZMT123 16:11, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
:Uh, from what I've seen, it hasn't been there for months, possibly due to its remake status. <font color="#CD7F32">Turtwig</font> <font color="#FF7F00">A</font> (<font color="#green">talk</font> | <font color="#yellow">contribs</font>) 16:30, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
But Firered and Leafgreen have a Plot section and they are also remakes. HGSS plot has a few plot changes from Gold and Silver so this article needs a Plot section. ZMT123 16:35, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Type Secialist
Is it worth noting that this game is the first to include type specialist for all 17 types (15 different gym leaders (not including Blue), Karen (Dark), and possibly Giovanni). I say possibly because I don't know if he counts as a Ground type specialist in these games. Iml908 (talk) 01:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
The title of the page should stay the same.
It has been suggested that the title of this article be renamed "Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver." I'm okay with the suggestion, but even though other territories don't use the word "version," North America does, so we should refer to them by their full North American names. Thank you.
