The Power Plant is littered with machinery that has fallen into disrepair. Many of the changes between these two generations are simply cosmetic, the most notable one being changing the exit in Zapdos's room to lead to the side of the Power Plant instead of back to the entrance.

In {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, the inside is redesigned yet again to be a single room, with the generator in the middle and the scientists at their computers spread around the room. Wild Pokémon reside outside like in [[Generation II]], including Zapdos, which returns after the {{key|IV|Machine Part}} is restored and all 16 [[Badge]]s have been earned.

It was revealed in ''[[PS026|Holy Moltres]]'' that [[Lt. Surge]] captured {{p|Zapdos}} at the Power Plant. In ''[[PS050|Lapras Lazily]]'', {{adv|Blue}} revealed how he had encountered [[Agatha]] of the [[Elite Four]] at the Power Plant before the start of the [[Indigo Plateau]]'s [[Pokémon League]] tournament.

In the [[Pokémon Pocket Monsters]] manga, {{OBP|Red|Pocket Monsters}} and his {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} visited the Power Plant in ''[[PM017|Regain the Deserted Power Plant!]]''. Like many places that he visits, the Power Plant ended up being destroyed by [[Red's Clefairy]].
