:::Does it matter why didn't they change Red and Blue? Maybe they thought it's too major. That the characters are too classic to get their name changed? It's not that HGSS is only for youths who've never seen GSC at their eyes and they can change everything they won't, the youths won't care. Because, of course, the release of HGSS was total kick for older fans! The retcon of a Gym Leader's name and the Final Boss would be too major and pointless change. HGSS DOES reference GSC and their old methods. Also, there's a holy rule "Lex retro non agit". The old scheme being obsolete IS NOT a reason to change the names of characters who had ACTUAL and canonical NPC names. Renaming Blue and Red would make as much sense as renaming any other Gym Leader or character. Red and Blue's names were decided long time ago. It was to late to change them. The situation is very unlike Gold, Silver and Kris. Those were never supposed to be their official names, never appearing as NPCs (until HGSS, for Gold), being nothing more than optional names. We've assumed those names to be like that but that was only in analogy to Red and Blue. But it was a bad analogy. HGSS denied it. We'll stick to Silver and Kris, of course, because we have no choice. But Gold must be changed to his "Hibiki" English name, when it's revealed. Everything you say is assumed based on various analogies. But Pokemon isn't analogous. Actual facts must be put OVER fan assumption. Assumptions can't be an argument. --Maxim 10:53, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

::::::::Yeah, so that just means that your Charizard's jump performance is hindered by one star so they turn gray and drop below the base :) All Pokémon should be nearly the same, all that have not had apricorn shakes have a chance of having a +1 or -1 or +2 or -2 in some stat which is determined daily by the Pokémon's nature. Your Charizard should be either: Adamant, Docile, Impish, Jolly, or Careful. Those stats go along with the base stats perfectly though. (Yaminokame 23:21, 10 November 2009 (UTC))

::::::::::What do you mean a concrete system? Like how to arrange the data or something? If that's the case, then just as my two cents, I personally like either the text versions or the image versions as were listed above. As far as the totals go, I don't really see much of a need for those at all. I think that overall going with the plain stars and blank stars would be the best bet since they would be easiest to relate to when looking at the status screen. With that in mind, we should probably add a little section in the performance page that lists the stars and their meanings. I'll work on that tonight if no one adds it in before then. (Yaminokame 01:46, 11 November 2009 (UTC))
:::::::::::I mean like... are we going to show the Nature-related stuff, or just the base and maximum? Would that be a good idea? <span style="color:#DAA520">TTE</span><span style="color:#C0C0C0">chidna</span> 01:49, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
::::::::::::You could, but I think it would be overly confusing since they can deviate too far from the base too often. For example, it's possible to have a Zapdos with 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, 5/5 stars in power based on nature. An adamant Zapados for example could either be 3/5 (base), 4/5 or 5/5 depending on the day. Since there is already a list of how much they deviate on the performance page based on nature, I would think that if anything, put the species base and max on each Pokémon page and then make the performance page go into further depth on how the performance system works if need be. That way it tells people that they change regularly and how much they are changing. (Yaminokame 01:59, 11 November 2009 (UTC))
←Well then. I'll see what I can do to recode it, then. Think I should use the ☆★ stars? Some people say they don't display... I don't wanna overload on images, though, since that's what has caused server issues in the past with the movelists. ::Yeah, I see that problem, ☆★ kind of stars I guess technically are "special" characters that people need to turn on support to see. Kind of like how for me ¥ is the yen sign, but to others it is just a backslash. Unfortunately I am going to go ahead and guess that a lot of people are not going to have support turned on to view them... and there are really a lot that need to be displayed, which is going to make it hard to do pictures. Since the system is text stars right now though maybe it should stay that way until a better way is found? Ultimately it's screwed one way and screwed another though :/ (Yaminokame 05:30, 11 November 2009 (UTC))
:::I see a yen sign. What OS? What encoding? ¥ is what it is for me. And the point is though... we use the special stars else where, like with Pokémon ☆... ::::Well, the computer I have came with that ability turned on already, but I know that some of the older computers don't. Anything up to Windows ME (I believe) is a real pain to get it to show foreign characters. I may be wrong, but I had a Windows XP, and if I remember correctly, it wouldn't show them either until I turned on 'additional support for East Asian languages' in the control panel (before that they just come out as numbers and letters). Once I turned that on though I didn't have to mess around with encoding or anything, the characters showed themselves. (Yaminokame 08:12, 11 November 2009 (UTC))

::::::Sounds good to me :) To be honest, I have been running into this problem a lot less often recently. A few weeks ago I saw someone quoted what I had said and it came out as strange letters, but those people have truly become few and far between. You should be good to go with the text stars. ==Need to let you know on something==
I've been handling the walkthroughs lately and right now I am spending my time working Ruby and Sapphires walkthrough, but my problem is I can't post some of the Route-related images because they are part of Emerald and I noticed the ones that were replaced on the different routes were the Ruby and Sapphire ones that were originally posted by you a few years back (I only go for route stuff with noteworthy differences) and I thought I should let you know since I do not do image posting at all though I can spread it around.
Also I'll need some supervision to help check for spelling/grammer, when I write something effective as I know a useful game mechanic trick with the PokéNav's Trainer Eye/Match Call that I use very regularly and I can give you the details since it is easy to know if your are interested. -Tyler53841 06:07, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
:Well, your grammar seems fine here, and I don't think it's too much of a bad thing to use the Emerald route images... I suppose you could always use the history function and reupload the RS route image under a different filename, though.
:Anyway, what's this trick in RSE? <span style="color:#DAA520">TTE</span><span style="color:#C0C0C0">chidna</span> 06:12, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
::The more often you go onto a route that has that trainer on it the better chance that they will challenge the player again. The only trouble with this trick is the amount of time it takes which is random, but the advantage is that they player can challenge that trainer at just about whenever they want and it helps against a Trainer of an item you can steal like Black Belt Nob.
::Some examples is that Aroma Lady Rose on 118 is an easy example to use where by using the Mach Bike to flash between the point of the Route entrance and Mauville I talk to her after a while. While Hiker Trent on 112 is a little harder to do. Or for a cave exclusive trainer like Dragon Tamer Nicolas I do it at the ladder for the chamber he is at repeatedly and it works well. These are examples that you should be aware of if you wish to confirm this, and I recommend the trainers on Route 118, just remember you need five badges first.
::As for the images I'll use my Sandbox but I need help with the Meteor Falls one since it is shared image though I'll understand if you say no.-Tyler53841 06:24, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

:Hmm... well, basically as long as you say that moving between locations increases the chance of a Trainer being able to rebattle, and list Trainers near the borders of areas... you're good. I mean, eventually, if you go between two areas enough, you'll have everyone lighting up. ::Done, go and check it out if you like but I decided to hold back on the image problem for now since I am also using my Sapphire copy to help with the Walkthroughs and I don't really have the skill. But the only reason why I left you know about this game trick was to make sure someone was aware of this before I posted this, but I have definitely confirmed this works in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.  -Tyler53841 07:08, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Strange trivia about Leaf
This guy has been adding this a few times in the trivia section of Leaf's article: "When playing as Leaf many lines that reflected the originally set gender of Red are unchanged. This includes lines with sexual undertones, such as a female trainer in Rock Tunnel who says "Ew! Don't try anything funny in the dark!"." I find odd that he admits that the Picnicker at the Rock Tunnel says that with a sexual undertone. First, even if it ever did, this guy obviously fails at understanding lesbianism as a perfectly normal biological and psychological condition. Since this meaning has very low possibilities of having a contextual validity, the other logical meaning is that the Picnicker is scared due to the darkness present in the cave, thus having difficulty in observing the surroundings. I also wonder if he can refer to the lines that don't reflect the gender difference. 'Cause the TV at Leaf's house does reflect the change. However, since I haven't played as Leaf for much, I don't know if his statement is true. Either way, we have to keep an eye on him because an edit war might start from that, considering that his stubbornness makes him abuse of his power as a contributing editor beforehand. == Virus attack? ==
Everytime I go to Bulbapedia, Adobe reader shows a 'stopped working' message. It appears twice and then it says that Adobe Reader was closed by the computer for security reasons. 1-3 months ago, I was attacked by a trojan horse that I fought off. This had happened once before. The first time I got away but the second time I executed an emergency shutdown. The Adobe Reader glitch has been happening since then. The same thing happened the first time but with Nero Home instead. Nero home, however, sometime shows that goddamn annoying message randomly. Nero Home only shows 1 stopped working message. == Advertisements ==
Hello, I am horribly sorry to bother you. (I know you're thinking "Not sorry enough.") I have an issue with some of the advertisements displayed on Bulbapedia. I know that once people agree to have advertisements displayed on a website, it's troublesome to get certain ones not displayed, but...
Okay, I saw an Evony advertisement and was somewhat disturbed. I'm sure you have seen plenty of those and know what I'm talking about. I think that someone should make an effort to control the display of those particular ads because I know that children reference to this website. One of my cousins uses this quite often, and he's in fourth grade.
I have only seen about three of these ads in my time here, but of course I'm not sure how much money you would lose if you got rid of the Evony ads... hopefully not a major amount. Perhaps you can do something about it, perhaps not. I'd just be satisfied to know someone tried! Thank you, JohtoAkima 19:05, 27 November 2009 (UTC).

OK, that's done. I also updated the style of Arceus, Unown, and the Nincada line in their respective templates. Wormadam is also taken care of with the main template. That leaves us with:
* Tyrogue, Eevee, Burmy. I'm guessing we'll still let each of them have its own template.
* Cherubi and Cherrim. I'm thinking we should do them with the main regular template, and just have Cherrim switch sprites.
* Mothim. Again, I think the main template with a switching Burmy form would be just fine.

About the version templates in certain tables...
I think there's something wrong with them. Look here. Why are the Red and Blue/Gold and Silver/FireRed lines much shorter (vertically) than the rest? Shouldn't they have the same size? Pokemon lover 19:44, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
:The images are affecting the vertical height of the rows they're in. There's a bit of extra black space on the Gen I map and the Gen II map is tiny. Couple that with the fact that there's three versions in Gen I and three in Gen II, but only two in Gen III... you get a vertical size difference. It doesn't really matter, as long as the size is equal between the rows of a given generation. Look at the sprites template used on all Pokémon pages. Gen I and II have 56×56 sprites, Gen III has 64×64, Gen IV has 80×80. There's a size difference there, too. And when something gets thumbnailed, it's based on the width, not the height, so if you really wanted to make them all of equal size you'd be throwing the widths out of whack and you'd have to calculate something like what I had to do when the show went HD. Here's a thing: don't bother with it, it's just fine as it is.
