I guess that makes sense. But Ash hasn't seen Charizard since Hoenn and he hasn't seen Primeape since Kanto. It would make sense that they would both eventually show up in the anime once again. And if you paid good attention to the Lily of the Valley Conference, Ash was completely content with Gliscor's new strength, so I don't see any point in sending it back.
