Just relizing that I had "THE OFFICIAL Pokémon Handbook" infront of me. I always hated not knowing how to say the names correctly and in this book it says how is it possible to add a section for the first genneration Pokémon. Is there a reason why we can't add trivia, or can we now?
Arceuscl405 22:45, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
:It's stated further down the page under the Pokédex entries the generation it became available, as well as also being evident in the Sprite and Attack Template sections. I think its one of those situations where its assumed one would be able to figure out when it was introduced in the games.
In regards to trivia it says up the top, and it hasn't changed since then. Most trivia holds little to no importance, and as such is non-notable. Basically it's to stop users adding pointless trivia, but adding it regardless is discouraged and will most likely be reverted by another user. --Spriteit 06:36, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

:It's an issue with how Chrome (in particular) does the wrapping. I don't know if it can be fixed/how to fix it, mostly because I have no idea how the wrapping works in the first place. If someone can figure it out, and make up a copy of it (e.g. in their userspace) to demonstrate that it works properly, I can add it in. <span class="sc"><span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span></span> <small><span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span></small> 01:18, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Intros for Event Pokemon
I noticed that the intro for the Johto starters have this statement:
:It can also be obtained in Emerald if the player has completed the Hoenn Pokédex and talks to Professor Birch.
And the Hoenn starters have this:
:It is also available in HeartGold and SoulSilver, after obtaining all sixteen badges and defeating Red.
However, none of the Kanto starters have a similar statement, despite the fact that they are given to the player by Professor Oak after defeating Red. Should it be added to the intro? Snorlax and Sudowoodo also have similar statements. However, other in-game event only Pokemon, such as Castform, Rotom, Mesprit and Moltres, do not have any similar statements. <small><span style="color:white; background-color:#007FFF">X</span><span style="color:#007FFF; background-color:white">Vuvuzela2010</span><span style="color:white; background-color:#007FFF">X</span></small> 23:10, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
:I'm not a fan of them. We have an availability section for a reason. At the very least, if we do keep them, I think we should remove Snorlax and Sudowoodo's, and keep only the starter Pokémon's, but I would prefer that we just remove them altogether. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 02:52, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
DW stuff
With Quagsire, the Quagsire#Game Locations seems to imply that Quagsire can't be obtainable in Pokémon Black, while it actually can, by evolving a Wooper obtained from the Pokémon Dream World. So I'm suggesting to put "Evolve <Pokémon>"/"Breed <Pokémon> in the Dream World section if you can evolve/breed one of its evolutionary relatives to get the Pokémon. Of course, the evolutionary relative would be obtainable from the Pokémon Dream World --Enervation 14:05, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Tier?
I don't know if this has been suggested yet, or if it is already implemented, but I think all Pokemon pages deserve to have their tier (OU, UU, etc.) on them. Thoughts? SquirtleZillah 23:39, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
:I think the pages are fine the way they are.  Do people really need to know if they're OU or UU?  They can look at Smogon for that.  Also, for future reference, please link your signature to your userpage/user talk page.  --<span style="color:#66FF00">☆Yoshis</span><span style="color:#FF0000">World☆</span> 23:45, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
::They aren't listed because everyone has different limits of what's OU, what's UU, etc. You'll note that our Tier article has no lists on it either - it proved far too argumentative, even if it was copied straight from Smogon. Smogon's list may be the most common, but if you want to know what Smogon thinks, you should be on Smogon in the first place. (Follow the external links at the bottom of the infobox - that's what they're there for). It's not raw data from the games, like everything else in the infobox, it's opinion. And that's why they're not included. <span class="sc"><span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span></span> <small><span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span></small> 04:49, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Suggestion For Pages
I have an idea for an additional subsection to the Move section of the Pokémon pages - a section that lists the moves the Pokémon could learn in Gen 3 or 4, but can't any as of Gen 5. Given that a Pokémon could be raised in a past game and then transferred up after learning moves otherwise inaccessible, this is valuable knowledge (like say, you want a Dragonite with Heat Wave via Gen 4 move tutors). As it stands there are of course already lists of movesets in previus generations, but I think it could be nice to have this information on the main pages so users interested in training up their Pokémon don't have to sift through subpages and compare the movesets between them. Drake Clawfang 16:50, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
:I agree. We list pre-evolution moves, why not earlier generation moves? --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 14:14, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
::I was messing with idea here but my template knowledge isn't too great, was thinking in the long run it could incorporate the whole previous generation (TM, breeding, tutor, level up), purification, event and previous evolution into it and also previous evos by alternate methods. Its not much, but provides a starting point... --Spriteit 15:51, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
:::I also made a little something.  If any of the boxes look messed up it's because I got lazy and didn't provide a value.  They all should work, however.--<span style="color:#0000FF">Mister</span><span style="color:#008000">E</span><span style="color:#800080">13</span> 15:57, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
::::I like MrE's template. It seems to do exactly what it should do. Maybe set up a note for tutor/event/Dream World moves, like the prevo template does (and even prevo and TM moves)? --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 08:40, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
Since this seems to have come to a stand still, I'm on uni break now, and I agree that MrE's template is better, however I would still like a column that says how the move is gotten in other generations (Level up, TM, Breeding etc.) just so people know where to look. I'm on uni break so when the template is completed I can start entering it on pages if needed. -Spriteit 12:25, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Help
Is there anything you need help with here? I was thinking maybe expanding Pokémon physiology--Squeaky the first 18:22, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
: I may be new to this project but... I am adding Direct Links to all Pokémon's body style to the section of List of Pokémon by body style in the physiology. Blastoise (Pokémon) is a good example. If you want to help we could split the work load (like I do odd national pokédex numbers and you do even or I do Gens I-III and you do IV-V). I don't care how we split it or even if we split it, I am just giving you an option Squeaky the first (or anyone else who wants to help and doesn't know where to start). Maybe we should mention that pronunciation is prohibited, and that the "introduced in Gen X" is considered redundant? what do you mean by "pronunciation is prohibited"? I find something telling me how to pronounce it would be useful (considering I've been pronouncing Emobar as Emborar and Bianca as Binaca, which is apparently a soap) Volcronaperson 19:38, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
:Pokémon wise, there are a wide ranger of acceptable pronunciations across the various guide books and the anime. As such it was decided that they would not be listed due to the conflicting sources. --Spriteit 00:36, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
::Ah. OK. Volcronaperson 16:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
:::The reason this project doesn't have 'a leader' is that the pages involved are so central to the wiki that any major changes should really be agreed upon by the Editorial Board after discussion with, at the very least, some other staff members. So in a way, it does have a leader; the Editorial Board as a whole, which is itself led by Magnedeth. <span class="sc"><span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span></span> <small><span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span></small> 03:24, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Anatomy vs. Physiology
It's been brought up elsewhere and previously, but I thought it should at least be posted on its relevant Project page.  The term "physiology" should be replaced with "anatomy".  The latter lists and describes the physical features and structure of an organism while the former describes the function of those structural features.  The nature of the Physiology section on every species pages is almost entirely anatomical rather than physiological.  - <span style="color:#fc880d">poi</span><span style="color:#ff3333">kins</span> 07:22, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
