Once you reach Snowpoint City, immediately heal up at the Pokémon Center since your Pokémon are probably exhausted. The temple in the northernmost part of the city isn't accessible until you get the National Dex, so ignore it for now (if you try to go inside, the woman will block you). There is an old man in the north-eastenmost house that will give you a trendy phrase once per day. A girl named Mindy in the north-westernmost house will trade her Haunter nicknamed Gaspar for a Medicham. Gaspar is holding an Everstone, so it won't evolve into Gengar. There is a sailor that will drive a ship and bring you to the Battle Zone, but only if you beat the Elite Four and Champion, and are "recognized by the Pokemon League". From what he says, it seems that he looks forward to that day.
An interesting weather condition called Diamond Dust happens only on 12th January. On that day, no snow falls in Snowpoint City. Instead, you will see sparkles in the air. Those sparkles are the Diamond Dust.
There are also something for you to collect in this town.

When you are ready, head to the Snowpoint Gym. The Gym is located in the middle of the town, so you are guaranteed to find it.
