 Following essentially the same plot as Pokémon Red and Blue/Green, the player starts in Pallet Town, there homwtown, and attempt to leave via the northern grass to be stopped by Proffesor Oak. He gives the player and there rival a Starter Pokémon, either [[Charmander]], [[Bulbasaur]] or [[Squirtal]], as in Pokémon Red and Blue/Green. They then recieve a package for Oak in Viridian City, and upon delivering it recieve there Pokédex, and Pokéballs, allowing them to start building up a strong team. Then the player is recommended to get the Badge from the Saffron City leader Sabrina, who uses the Psycic Type. It is then possible tp get [[Zapdos]] and [[Articuno]], although the player can go straight to Cinnbar City, beat the Fire-type Blaine, and then get the option to go to the first three Sevii Islands, where [[Moltres]] is newly housed.
