:There wasn't enough information in your article to actually keep it... something like this would go in an article primarily about things in the fandom. Try writing something in your user space first. I think "explicitly stated" is a bit much to ask for, for origins based on pop-culture. I don't recall any Pokémon (except the Poliwag family) ever having their origins "explicitly stated", and sometimes a pop-culture reference is just plain obvious (see {{p|Wobbuffet}}).
