Fluffy Tail: Difference between revisions

The Fluffy Tail is an item available in Generation III and Generation IV. It was introduced in Generation III as a replacement for the Poké Doll, and is shaped like the tail of a Skitty.

The Fluffy Tail works exactly the same as the Poké Doll; When used in battle with a wild Pokémon, the battle will end immediately, due to the wild Pokémon being distracted by the tail. It will have no effect in a Trainer battle.

Presumably, the item was created due to the fact that the Poké Doll is in the shape of a Clefairy, which is not in Hoenn's regional Pokédex. Perhaps on purpose, in regions where the Poké Doll is available, Skitty is not in the regional Pokédex, and therefore, the Fluffy Tail is not available for purchase. Because of this, the only way to get the Fluffy Tail in Sinnoh is to transfer it over via Pal Park.

Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald

In Generation III, Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, the Fluffy Tail is available for purchase for $1000 in Verdanturf Town's Poké Mart, and Lilycove City's Lilycove Department Store.

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, the Fluffy Tail cannot be found in-game, and must be traded while being held by a Pokémon from one of the Hoenn games. It has no use other than being a differently styled Poké Doll, which can actually be purchased in-game.

Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum

In Generation IV, Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, the Fluffy Tail cannot be found in-game. It must be sent through Pal Park being held by a Pokémon from a Generation III game.

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

In Generation IV, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Fluffy Tail cannot be found in-game. It can however be found on the Pokéwalker route Resort, after at least 3000 steps have been taken.
