Combined illustrations are similar to {{tcg|narrative illustration}}s, which feature one part of a story and continue that story onto other cards. Unlike {{tcg|Pokémon LEGEND}} and {{DL|Pokémon V (TCG)|Pokémon V-UNION}}, these cards function independently during gameplay, meaning they do not need to be played within the same deck as other cards that form the combined illustration.

The cards for {{tcg|Pokémon LEGEND}} and {{DL|Pokémon V (TCG)|Pokémon V-UNION}} defintionally make use of combined illustrations. Each card only consists of a portion of the "full game entity", and are combined in some way during a game in order to put the Pokémon into play. Their artwork is spread across all of the involved cards, be that two cards for a Pokémon LEGEND and four cards for a Pokémon V-UNION.

For reasons of redundancy, lists of Pokémon LEGEND and Pokémon V-UNION are found on the pages dedicated to their [[Evolution#In the TCG|Stage]]s, and not on this page
