The team is led by an {{p|Alakazam}} with {{p|Charizard}} and {{p|Tyranitar}} as teammates. Many Pokémon look up to them, including {{OBP|Mudkip|Ginji's Rescue Team}} from [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team]].

Team A.C.T. is only named in ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate!]]'' and [[Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon]]. In Red and Blue Rescue Team, their remake, and the {{pkmn|manga}}, they are simply referred to as "Alakazam's team".
