'''Season's Greetings''' (Japanese: '''思いを込めた新年祝い''') was a [[story event]] in {{g|Masters EX}}. It was focused on the [[sync pair]]s {{mas|Lillie}} and {{p|Ribombee}} and {{mas|Lance}} and {{p|Gyarados}}.

During this event, players could earn Hagoita Cards, Temari Cards, Koma Cards, and Daruma Cards from battles that could be redeemed in the {{mas|shop}}. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Ultimate Card Collection, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra cards were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

This event featured the Full-Force Battle, where players were challenged to defeat a large group of strong opponents. Similar to the [[Legendary Arena]], players could use multiple teams with a limited number of total sync pairs, with the opponents' health carrying over between rounds and with previously used pairs unable to be used again until the challenge is reset. {{mas|Medal}}s could be earned by completing specific missions.

In addition, players could earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.

==First run==
The event first ran from January 1 to 14, 2021. The "Lillie Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lillie (New Year's 2021) and Ribombee for the duration of the event, and the "Lance Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lance (New Year's 2021) and Gyarados for the duration of the event.

Players had a chance to obtain access to the special area Dragon of Good Fortune when completing one of the Card Gathering or Mass Card Collecting areas; this area could only be played once before it had to be unlocked again.

The player could battle using Lillie (New Year's 2021) and Ribombee or Lance (New Year's 2021) and Gyarados to obtain +0.6× bonus cards; {{mas|Blue}} and {{p|Pidgeot}}, {{mas|Nate}} and {{p|Braviary}}, {{mas|Guzma}} and {{p|Golisopod}}, {{mas|Burgh}} and {{p|Leavanny}}, or {{mas|Lusamine}} and {{p|Pheromosa}} to obtain +0.4× bonus cards; and {{mas|Skyla}} and {{p|Swanna}}, {{mas|Bugsy}} and {{p|Beedrill}}, {{mas|Noland}} and {{p|Pinsir}}, or {{mas|Viola}} and {{p|Surskit}}/{{p|Masquerain}} to obtain +0.2× bonus cards.

==Second run==
The event reran from January 4 to 18, 2022. The "Lillie and Lance Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lillie (New Year's 2021) and Ribombee and Lance (New Year's 2021) and Gyarados for the duration of the event. In addition, the "5★-Guaranteed Seasonal Scout" ran during the same time period. This scout could only be used once, guaranteed that the player would receive a 5★ pair, and had a chance of recruiting Lillie (New Year's 2021) and Ribombee and Lance (New Year's 2021) and Gyarados. However, they did not have higher odds of appearing than any other sync pairs available in the scout.

==Plot==
{{mas|Lillie}} and {{mas|Lance}} meet up with the player, dressed in traditional clothes from [[Johto]], and comment that they've seen lots of people sending greeting cards to their friends and loved ones to celebrate the new year. They invite the player to come into town with them and see the cards.

Lillie, Lance, and the player head into town, seeing {{mas|Bugsy}}, {{mas|Kris}}, {{mas|Valerie}}, {{mas|Koga}}, {{mas|Janine}}, {{mas|Morty}}, {{mas|Pryce}}, and {{mas|Whitney}} and {{mas|Jasmine}} with a {{p|Pelipper}}. They come across Pelipper's Trainer, a Pokémon Ranger, noticing that it looks a bit ill. Lillie offers the Pelipper one of {{p|Ribombee}}'s pollen puffs. Pelipper becomes noticeably better, but still needs to rest at the Pokémon Center. However, Pelipper and its Trainer were in the middle of delivering cards. Lance offers to help out by having his {{p|Dragonite}} deliver the cards in Pelipper's place, and asks if Lillie and the player want to meet up with some other Trainers while doing so. They agree, and leave town to go deliver the cards.

They first meet up with {{mas|Silver}} with his {{p|Ho-Oh}} and {{p|Sneasel}} and {{mas|Blue}}, with his {{p|Blastoise}} and {{p|Pidgeot}}, who are training together. Lance speaks with Silver, and gives him cards from {{mas|Ethan}} and {{mas|Lyra}}. Blue receives cards from many Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, and asks if {{mas|Red}} and {{mas|Leaf}} have received the cards he sent to them yet. Silver also gives Lance Ho-Oh feathers in place of cards for him, Ethan, and Lyra.

After delivering the cards to Ethan and Lyra, Lance gets a card from his cousin, {{mas|Clair}}, with a battle challenge. They battle, Lance's {{p|Gyarados}} versus Clair's {{p|Kingdra}}. Lance wins the battle, having an advantage due to Clair expecting him to battle with his Dragonite rather than his Gyarados.

After finishing delivering all the cards, the Pokémon Ranger and her Pelipper give Lance, Lillie, and the player cards of their own, telling them to give the cards to the people close to them. Lillie gives her cards to her friends and family from Alola. After giving out the cards, Lance, Lillie, and the player get their photo taken by {{mas|Viola}}, and Lillie wishes everyone a happy new year.
