Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Pikawitchu!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! Tina  20:44, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Project Location

Heya, Pikawitchu. First, just letting you know that the Project Locations has changed quite a bit recently due to the instructions of the new Project Leader, me. The project has been updated and visually redesigned to make it easier to process. Little tasks and goals have been added to project page to make things run better and to help expand location articles. If you have any suggestions, inquiries, or questions, please don't hesitate to ask on the talk page.--Clarky13 11:45, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of Userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Just wait until tomorrow, ok? Thanks! --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Hold on!

If you did not read your last warning, then please read it now. You have edited the User: namespace to much for now. Please do not edit your page any more for now, as it is hard on the server. Thank you, --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:28, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Stop.

Do not edit the User: namespace any more. In the past, we were not allowed to edit our pages at all because of users over-editing their pages. If you edit your page any more today then the privilege for you to edit it will be removed. --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:32, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Look,

Your failure to listen to these warnings has resulted in your privileges being taken away. Your privileges may be returned in time. Please, next time listen to us. --- Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:35, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Seriously, dude, 23 times?! TTEchidna 19:51, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I know its hard to make your userpage at first because there are so many things to add, but consider next time using the "Preview" button and trying to add as many things as possible at once.--Blake 20:21, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Talk Pages

Do NOT put your opinions onto talk pages, such as "Swalot is ugly". It's useless for the page itself, and a talk page isn't a forum where you can discuss your comments. And, if you're going to post on a talk page with something actually relevant, then type ~~~~ after your post. Thank you. er1hp streak 17:51, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Image names

Avoid using crazy characters like ♫ δ ♀ ♂ or any accented letters in Image names. These names typically don't show up. MaverickNate 20:20, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, I meant that the image won't work. You can categorize images as such, but the images with these characters in the names just don't appear. MaverickNate 20:23, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm fixing it. No need to worry! MaverickNate 20:24, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I already put it on the page for you! MaverickNate 20:29, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, you can do that. But ask me for any others like it, because some Japanese images are okay, and some are small and need replaced. The Donphan image is small and needs replaced. MaverickNate 20:46, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Along with that, just upload a new version instead of a whole new file.--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 22:01, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
No, no no! Don't do what matt said. We only use the Japanese names for the Japanese images, and I'll take care of that card for you. MaverickNate 13:51, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
And I don't think that you screwed up the name. It looks fine to me. MaverickNate 14:02, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Umm.

YEah, you can. MaverickNate 21:04, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
