The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Will keep this in mind, thanks! Question though: how often can I reasonably make changes to a page, say, in a day? I discover new achievements/unlocks/data as I play over time, so I might have new information to add to a page multiple times in a day. Should I wait until the end of the day (week?) to add all of the information I gathered, or edit the page as I go? Oreadia (talk) 05:37, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Eh, I'm not a staff member so I can't give you a hard rule, but the implied guideline as far as I can perceive it is to try to save up your edits at least enough so that you aren't editing the page twice in a row — in other words, so that someone else is editing in between your edits. Since the Magikarp Jump page is being edited dozens of times a day, you can get away with editing it more often, but if you were to go to a page that was getting less attention, then yes, you would want to try to wait until you had a full day's worth of data.

More important than that, though, is to try to remember to edit the full page so that you're editing everything in one go, instead of going section-by-section, which adds up to several edits in a quick timespan. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:24, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

The basic takeaway should be, it's hardly a race. You don't have to add (and save) everything immediately as you find it, resulting in bunches of little edits; if you just keep some notes or something, you can make more significant contributions with fewer edits.
