Q Glitch

The Q glitch that allows any Pokemon to get any move also causes the Pokemon to get the wrong stats and name. For example, a Magikarp that gained the move Transform from a Mew would also get Mew's stats and be nicknamed "MEW". While this can be fully fixed by evolving the Magikarp, sometimes this is not possible or not desired. Is there any way to fix this problem without evolution? Blueapple128 22:35, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Here's an idea (not tested): Use the Q glitch to give Magikarp's moves and stats to a Mew, have Mew learn Transform, then use the Q glitch again to give Mew's stats and moves to another Magikarp. Now the 2nd Magikarp has Transform and its regular stats. (However, this won't work if the move you are trying to teach is a starting move.) Blueapple128 18:22, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

I didn't revert you, but don't add that template to CotDs or main characters just yet. We're not sure we want that template everywhere - the main purpose of it is to replace those crappy little articles about the individual Pokémon that we've been eliminating lately. Also, next time you use the template, pay attention to the "note" parameter - it's "h" if it's the first line, "f" if it's the bottom line, or "b" if it's the only one (which is what you should've used on that page. Um, if you haven't tried using a leaf stone, you should. If not, don't guess. Go use a leaf stone, (in generation 3 games) and then come back and tell me what happens.

And let me say this. I take severe offense to your anti-glitch attitude. Not that I blame you-nothing of the sort. MM, if you'll allow me to quote from the dictionary: "Glitch - 1. a defect or malfunction in a machine or plan. 2. Computers. any error, malfunction, or problem. Compare bug". Your beloved glitches, if you fail at grasping the very meaning of the word, are software errors. They are NOT Pokémon. They are mistakes. Yet, we allow them to have articles, because they're part of the game data. That does not mean you can treat them like a real part of the Pokémon world. They're program screwups. Might I remind you that I was not even the one who came up with the name Glitch Pokémon. I am unsure by whom that term was coined, but I can be sure that they did not have a very positive view on them. Plus, as I recall, chewing gum was inadvertantly created as a result of an experiment with the purpose of developing a new kind of tire rubber. So sure Glitch Pokémon were mistakes. But so was chewing gum. Why they came to exist does not define what they are or what they can be. PsychicRider; For many things, I can understand that. But Glitch Pokémon can be battled. They can use attacks. They have set stats, some of them even have very good stats. They can be captured in Poké Balls. They have Pokédex entries. They have cries. They have sprites. They have types. In these regards, they are equal to official Pokémon, and really, what else is there? I'll tell you what else there is. Nothing but the flawed perception of them by the human mind, that's what. All official Pokémon are featured in other medias. glitch Pokémon, for this reason, are not worthy of being compared to official Pokémon, because they do not exist outside of one or two games. ^Maverick _Nate 21:22, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Magnedeath, wouldn't it be possible to put what programing oversights caused them to be created in the origin? I am not saying that I support immediate integration of glitches to our lives, something more subtle like having Missingno. with a small cameo in a movie here, a .4 TCG card there, and so on until glitches are accepted, if not emdraced as offical Pokémon. Also, weather or not they admit it Nintendo created glitches and are therefore responsible for them.--Mtn otter 12:50, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Dude. What was the point of that shiny Pokémon category, when all you did was put in the SAME articles that were in the anime shinies category? That was... Pointless. We don'y need two identical categories. Not to mention you forgot to categorize the category. And you split your edits into a million revisions. thanks for that VERY descriptive explanation on how to copy transform, but that's unnecessary. In Platinum anyway, I just made Ditto transform into Smeargle and then used Sketch and copied Transform COMPLETELY. But I can't do it in Gen. III--Darknesslover5000 02:47, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Glitch Pokémon Infobox

I assume, as you are the founder of Project GlitchDex, that you are also considered its Project Leader, so I'll bring this to you instead of an admin first.

I've made a new version of Template:GlitchPkmnInfobox; see User:UltimateSephiroth/Sandbox. Does it look good enough? It changes its sections depending on the generation tag given, so if one defines that it's a Generation II Glitch Pokémon, it won't show the Mew Trick/Old Man stuff and such, and shows the gender and breeding data boxes instead.

If it looks OK, tell me. I'll then finish its color side (currently it goes boom if there is no color template for one or both of the types defined), and then it's ready to replace the old one (via an administrator). UltimateSephiroth ^{(about me · chat · edits)} 18:10, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
